    I saw this on sale and bought it based on your review of it in your detailed airbrushes video. I absolutely love it. I also have a ps-289 and between them I don't think I will ever need another airbrush (unless something goes wrong). Thank you so much for your videos, they've really helped me on my airbrushing journey.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is awesome- it's one of my favorites too. I agree, you'll never need another airbrush between those 2. Just look after them well and they will last you decades.

    My workhorse, have 2 of them one converted to a .23 and both with the new iwata square triggers and soft springs. To say these brushes are a great value for the money is a injustice, they are just great brushes!

    Simply THE best Airbrush. Props on keeping your AB looking like new!
    Regarding MAC valve it is very convenient in some application I use it all the time.

    Could you do a video on how to get good results from a pache siphon feed single action airbrush?

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do pretty much the same thing as a double action. Use a good airbrush paint- that's most important way to get optimal performance. With the model H, I like to spray at a higher psi (30-35).

    They're rated on this side of the pond too. I so nearly bought one, but the ease of maintenance for H&S plus removable cups, clinched it for me. However theres no doubt that this one of the best ABs at a great price point (remarkable).
    Your art work is truly amazing, aided by the ease at with the 771 puts paint down so delicately, its a remarkable AB.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well said Muso! It does apply the paint very delicately. Just awesome for small detailed work.

    Is there any difference between pushing the trigger down and pulling back the needle chucking nut to flush out the paint cup vs depressing the trigger and just pulling the trigger back to empty the color cup?

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You get a nearly identical result by just pressing down and pulling back on the trigger. Technically you can retract the needle farther back by pulling on the chucking nut, but it never made a difference to me. I never use it.

    Is there a differences between PS-770 and PS-771?

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I believe it is just the finish on the exterior of the airbrush. I've always loved the finish on the original 770. That gun metal look is awesome.

      @PleasureRyland I did, but honestly, the ps771 spring feels really nice. It did feel a little softer, but only when I did a comparison on the ps770 with the stock spring and drublair on the ps771..

    I was using some well reduced Createx opaque white which almost immediately coagulated in my newly acquired, second hand Iwata micron. Reverting to my old unbranded airbrush, the same thing happened. The paint cup bubbles, the air stops and the paint shoots up into the trigger and air mechanisms. Both air brushes have a .23mm needle. Am I able to use opaque paints with such small needles as .18mm?

    • @Alfredo.Barros
      @Alfredo.Barros 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If your paint is well diluted you should be able to spray pretty much any paint, so I would say that your paint is too thick and/or your is PSI too low. Try the same setup but with a different paint, a lacquer one for example, and if that sprays great, then is Createx's problem.
      I spray lacquer paints using my Infinity CR Plus 0.15mm needle size and it sprays great but I try to not use water based acrylics since they clog Airbrushes mush easier. In fact, I detest those paints... their finish is terrible, not durable, not vivid colors and so on (but that's me anyways)

    • @BunyipToldMe
      @BunyipToldMe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for that Alfredo. The brush seems to work fine with Createx transparents but I'm reluctant to use any other opaques because of the almighty mess the white caused. I thinned it down to almost water and upped the psi to no effect. Can I ask what you use lacquers for? They're new to me and I'd appreciate your advice. @@Alfredo.Barros

    • @Alfredo.Barros
      @Alfredo.Barros 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I paint 1/4 scale figures, 50CM and up and use 99% of the time lacquer paints. I have used Createx in the past, the Wicked lineup and no matter how much I thinned them, it clogged all my Airbrushes, even my Badger 100LG with a 0.5mm needle size and even the 0.7mm needle that I tried back then.
      If you paint portraits and similar things, I would say that lacquers aren't 100% optimal since they dry super quick and they are toxic, like very, so probably try to thin Createx with thinner obviously and use any medium (clear/base paint basically) to not destroy the properties of the paint.

    • @nickvaughan5594
      @nickvaughan5594 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use createx thinned with alcohol and have no issues but I run very thin. 20 drops alcohol-3 drops paint at 12 psi.

    • @Alfredo.Barros
      @Alfredo.Barros 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it depends on the quantity of paint, but 12 seems very little, maybe you can try to go for 15 or 18
