“Sometimes we have to take a step back -or forward - to ask people more than just how they are. People don’t want to burden others with our problems; but the reality is, we all have them. We all have friends we care about, friends who may be struggling with something we’re not aware of. With Ryan, this was exactly the case. From the outside, it appears he lives a happy life without a worry in the world. He’s an amazing person, who brings so much happiness to so many people. But the fact of the matter is, he isn’t okay. And that’s okay. But we need to do a better job of asking the people we care about if they are really okay; more importantly, to show up and prove to them that you care. There is so much to learn from this episode, and there is so much that Ryan still needs to learn himself.
