A Day on the Farm #24 | Letting the Heifers Out

- The time has come for the heifers to return to pasture. Those that were already outside last year and are accustomed to electric fences go straight to pasture. We put younger heifers in a cow yard for a few days to get them used to the electric wire.
In this video you can also see storing of sawdust for bedding, some feeding and milking of our cows.
Thanks for watching!

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M.We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
My daily calming video without someone talking... I love them!
Nothing better than watching heifers rompus out into pasture for the first time each spring.
Yep! 😄
Great condition on your animals, and lots of grass in the fields for them. 👍
Great video as always..You take great care and pride of everything
Soon you will need to swap your felt hat for a straw hat…really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing!
Yep 😀 nice, thank you 🙂
Another Lovely Video!
your Cowboy Hat reminds me of the Netflix show "the Ranch" 😀
nice to see how happy the heifers🐮 are going on the pasture.
greetings from Bavaria 🙂
Thanks 🙂 haha nice, yeah I thought it would look nice on videos 🤠 yes, I hope they won't mind the rain 😄
You sure have good looking cattle! Heifers have the size to make good milk producers. Too many farmers I knew as a kid didn't have genetics 1/4 as good. The efficiency in how you do each job, large or small, is impressive.
Thank you Herb 🙂
You obviously love this job.good luck❤️😎
I was a farmer on a 10 acre’s until I got married an miss it . We almost do the same thing you do with the cows move to a different pasture . We don’t grind our feed we take sale corn to co op get our’s grounded. We raised corn , hay ,straw ,alfalfa, wheat, barley, soy beans , milk 6 cows by hand twice a day no machine .The chickens and pigs , turkeys, rabbits we let them loose in a pen in fence pigs our separate pens .
That sounds nice 🙂
@@farmerspov4709 yea but hard work pays off selling milk and homemade cheese ,butter , eggs , homemade noodles. Butcher our on meat’s . Your video’s our real good your cattle our in excellent condition have plenty of grass and the grass field’s look real good and thick .

Man you have some fit heifers!!! Are the red ones a tipe of simental cross? Tidy farmyard as usual.
Yeah, maybe too fit... 😅 Yeah there might be some red holstein or montbeliard in them 😉

Hello 🚜🐮
Hi 😀
Just wondering, how old is you oldest dairy cow and how high is the average age of them. You got some great looking heifers. What age do the calf? Do you have wolves around there? Here we get them since a few years. They kill a lot of livestock and we are not aloud to do anything about it.
Currently 12 years 😉 depends on each cow, but they can stay in the herd up to 15 years... Usually around 2 years old but it depends on their mass 😉 no, thankfully not around here... But there are farmers that have big problems with them 🙄
Da li ste posijali kukuruz?Pozdrav iz Hrvatske 😃
Ne, obično sadimo početkom svibnja 😉
Put a strap to prevent the hat from falling off. Greetings from India.
Good idea 😄
@@farmerspov4709 moras vsak dan tocit al zdrzi 2 dni? Al celo veckrat 1 dan 😂
Večkrat na dan 😀
Ali si slovenec
Ja 👍

@@farmerspov4709 very green! Around here lots of red.
@@daspicsman yeah I like those red barns 😀
