Brenda came to sing at the Dixie Skate Land on north Dixie Hyway in Monroe Michigan in 1963. Her managers were having frequent trouble with the audience members getting too touchy-feely with her. I was best friends with the local DJ and was known at the skate rink management as being respectful. He asked me if i would be a body guard for Miss Lee. Of course, i said I would be honored. Brenda sang her songs beautifully, and everyone was thrilled. She was such a lovely lady, and she was courteous and very kind to everyone.
