There was an online concert a few nights ago, and this is pulled from it. There were a number of different musicians involved. The whole concert is worth a watch. Even though this isn't Kanami's composition, it really highlights what is so great about this band - the Miku/Kanami duet at the beginning with beautiful emotive finger-style guitar, then MISA taking the lead and Kanami playing the chords, then adding drums and slowly building to the intensity, and finally a high-energy third verse that suddenly lands and sets you down in a new place. Very musical.

The original is based on Greensleeves from c. 1580 Tudor England :)

It's all good! You should either react to the whole concert or just watch it on your own, since it really has some great arangements of the games soundtrack.

Kanami and the Maids have unlimited creativity. The next 10 years are going to an incredible sonic and emotional ride from Band-Maid. Thx Frank!

Yup, it may not be the style we've been used to from Kanami lately, but I wouldn't mind if she did more in that direction. The tone of both guitars in the first part of this hooked me right away. A great take on this song with a pinch of Band-Maid magic. :)
Classical vs. Band-Maid? More of that, please!

I enjoyed all the music in this concert but I'm biased so my highlights were Kanami's beautiful guitar tone, Misa being outstanding as she always is on songs with this sort of tempo plus getting 3 versions of a traditional English folk song "Greensleeves" in a 3 minute track. I don't know how much input they had to the arrangement but it has the Band Maid stamp. EDit Because I alway's expect Akane to add so much value to a track, I sometimes forget her, she killed it as well plus Miku adds fingerpicking to her arsenal as well.

I love Band-Maid, but to me the highlight was Senri's Kawaguchi drumming in the Liyue Battle Theme, and all the songs by Arch Echo. The last year concert was much more orchestra oriented. Sadly they only did two songs from the new region, we'll have to wait for next years concert for those.

This game is not an mmo, it's a single player with an option for 4 player co-op. It's a gacha game but that part is optional you can clear 100% of the game's content without ever pulling or spanding money.
The game is made by a Chinese company and is a 3rd person, open world, action RPG

Thx for the wonderful reaction. To my knowledge, this song was written by Kanami as a cover adaptation of an original Genshin Impact game tract (forgot the name of the GI composer), which was originally ofc based on the classic "Greensleeves." Nothing about this song or its arrangement, however, made me think it was written by outside writers (and not Kanami), and part of it reminded me actually of her early work in the acoustic Mochi to Cheese project. Does anyone have any inside knowledge of how this particular song was written?

No it's not Jenshin. It's Genshin with G as in Grass.

They did not compose this for a video game. This is an after-the-fact tribute to the music from the video game, where a lot of artists were asked to give their own new interpretations of songs from the original score.

Genshin is not an MMO btw, it's akin to Zelda games (don't know if you've heard of these) - open world, single player, story driven RPGs, with amazing music

Yeah now I know 😆, I'm usually into souls games (and souls likes) and 3rd person shooters like gears of war, mass effect etc...

The letter G in Japanese always has a hard pronunciation. Examples: go, gone, going.

I know but since the game is not Japanese but was made by a Chinese developer i wasn't 100% sure ...
