    If you want the body to change shape you have to import the tri files in outfit studio. Just make sure to import all of them and merge all of them as you import them. Do this after you have done everything else but before export and building. Hope this little bit helps. oh and remember that in FO4 the body is attached to the feets. So if you are messing with high heels or zaps and doing these mashups just remember the body reference is attached to the feet/boots/heels

      or once you add sliders you can just build it out in Bodyslide
      Same process as Skyrim
      Also the same fix if you don't have the presets installed (there is is a video on my channel for that as well)

    I've tried to make mashups outside of MO2 before with no luck. Yes, you opened BS from MO2 but you seem to have everything else stored separately on another drive (or at least another file structure. If they aren't then stored into either BS or Caliente's, how does a BS launched from MO2 find them? I came here to hopefully see how to make the new outfits actually BE new outfits that the game would recognize. But the only way I found to do that was to overwrite the new mash over an existing outfit in one of my clothing mods. It gets very tedious as there is always some clipping to fix, so you're in and out of the game.
    Another point: in order for the outfit to be able to use sliders in BS you have to have a base reference shape in OS (which then provides sliders). Then when you conform selected (which means actually having all the clothing pieces selected) you can then test all the sliders in OS and fix any clipping for each one. It gives the most possibilities for vertices to be tweaked and gives you the best possible outcome of reducing or eliminating clipping. However, I notice that when you imported your vault suit it was already in the shape it was saved to (Curvy in this case). No matter what I do (also because I use MO2 file structure and not the game's Data folder) all outfits and/or reference shapes come in that base CBBE Body which is pretty much zero sliders. It's frustrating as I want to see my outfit on my shape then, not after making it and bringing it into BS.
    I've been pissing about with this for over three years and I'm still trying to figure things out. I've tried getting help in Ousnius' Discord but when you have a lot of questions you end up sort of slipping into the void there. No one wants to hold hand people who don't know all the advanced features so you end up trying to teach yourself.

      you don't have to open BS from MO2. I actually have installed in both my Data folder and in MO2.
      When you "save as" your project you can set the path where the mesh is saved. If its through MO2 the mesh is saved in the overwrite folder and you have to move it from there to your data folder.
      This video was before I figured out to have BS installed in two locations.

      @@The_Ninedalorian I did not know this! That's awesome, that will help a lot. I'm still trying to figure out how to have the default CBBE Body be either my CBBE Nude or my CBBE Outfit. Mine, not the defaults from Caliente. It's so annoying having to mash things up on that teeny skinny body and pray it translates to your base female shape you built in BS. Mind, I do have to have a reference shape so I can conform all and then test all the sliders, it really helps find and fix a lot of clipping.

    Hello, your videos are very informative, thanks. I'm doing an armor mashup for Skyrim LE, but my final build output in nifskope is not one shape, it consists of all meshes i've messed with in OutfitStudio, even after building the files. I've even managed to get sliders working on it, but to no help. The game doesn't render them either, they appear invisible. Any ideia why? Care to help? Thanks

    • @The_Ninedalorian

      look at the partitions section in Outfit Studio first. The mesh would show the armor in pieces anyhow so that isn't your problem. Also in the CK make sure you armor slots are correct

      So if you're modifying a vanilla outfit, you would need to make a new project and make sure it's output path is exactly the same as the vanilla outfit, then when done, actually build the Outfit in Bodyslide. Name your project with like 00 at the start so you can find it in the Bodyslide drop down menu
      Example 00MinutemanOutfit.
      The reason it isn't changing in game is that you have to build the outfit in Bodyslide first.

    This is a very helpful tutorial for making outfit mashups. What I don't see here though is how you defined the reference in OS to make these outfits mashups in the first place.
    I'm using a custom body preset from DonEb14fn. Should I load the femalebody.nif into OS first or is it automated? I've already built all the outfit pieces I wanna uses in BS based on that body preset and I've seen some clipping in my game which is why I wanted to make an outfit mashup.

    • @The_Ninedalorian
      @The_Ninedalorian  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is an outfit which doesn't show skin (most vanilla outfits are like that) you don't need a reference unless you need to weight something,
      In OS, Use File>Load Reference
      And if it doesn't show skin make sure when you save the project that you uncheck the body ref box in the bottom left hand corner of the save box. Then is Bodyslide, make sure the Build Morphs Box (bottom left hand corner) is checked.
      If you are releasing the mod, make sure to include the tri files generated for the outfit are included in the BSAs
      If you do release your Creation, consider releasing it on Schaken Mods!

      @@The_Ninedalorian It is showing skin. I didn't realize that this tutorial was for Vanilla outfits though. I wanted to make an outfit mashup with modded clothe pieces and use them in my game (or eventually release them the mod authors would give me their approval).

    • @The_Ninedalorian
      @The_Ninedalorian  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doing it while showing skin can be done just fine.
      Just make sure you only have 1 body as the reference body. I would suggest removing the body when you import the pieces of the armor and then Add reference and put a new body in. Make sure you have all your sliders copied and saved. Make sure all your partitions are correct. And then when you are done you will have to make a completely new mod in the CK to put your new armor set into the game.

    • @The_Ninedalorian
      @The_Ninedalorian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you actually have to make a plugin for it.
      The plugin must include Armor Addons, the armor record pointing to the Armor addons, a custom keyword set to recipe filter, and a constructible object record to make the outfit in the Chembench.
      Admittedly this tutorial is a little more advanced for new modders and assumes that you already know how to make your own custom outfit mod.

      Thats because you have to unpack the meshes from the BSA. Use Bethedsa Archive Extractor. Put them in your data folder. You have to use the same folder tree structure. Also that outfit may use the vanilla mesh from Fallout default game and is nothing more than a material swap. The CK would be required to check if that is the case.

      There's male sliders on the Nexus if you look.
      If you make something you have to make your own mod in the CK for it. But instead of using a mod to get it you would just make a recipe in Constructible Objects and a Temper recipe to improve it.
