Question: why is it considered cross contamination when cutting veggies and meat when you put them in the same pan?

veggies are already ready to eat, if you cut chicken then cut veggies the chicken bacteria/blood/etc can get into the veggies and you might have to cook the veggies longer than u have to for the certain dish u are cooking
