I sprayed the under wings of my Dodge D100, with UPOL RAPTOR, it is originally meant for a spray on pickup bed liner, but works great as a stone chip protector.

Must be nice to have a shop and an unlimited budget. The charcoal and orange on white is a bad choice IMO but I realize they are in Tennessee where orange is king.

In your description of how to set the spray gun you describe the 2nd knob the second time around as your fan setting, where it is your volume knob, nevertheless I thought it was very informative, thank you.
How long do you wait between each color? Can I spray the orange, let dry for 30 minutes, then lay the pinstripe over it? Or does it need to dry for a longer time?
Hmm? You might want to change to a different gun and better fluid control if you are using 4 gallons of sprayable material for the white. That's way overkill even for spraying the insides of the fenders, etc. Defeats the purpose of an hvlp.

Does anybody make a clear that will last outdoors for more than 36 months ?! I've seen multiple PPGs go bad. I've gone back to acrylic enamel. My test car is 5 yrs on and looks good.
I use the dc2000 and holds up good. Used it on a car that sits outside for the past 5 years and still looks great. I think using a good sealer makes it last and no dye back
30 to 35 psi on that iwata is to mucn that gun likes lower psi 14 to 26 is all i run out of mine and lays down so flat. lower psi for heavy metallics. clear 24 26
I've done a lot of concrete work and body work......when a cement truck goes by or someone says, "Body work!"......I panic and hide under the bed in a fetal position sucking my thumb. 'Nuff said.
Wtf do you expect dude. Where do you think they get all their tools, parts, materials, and project vehicles from? SPONSORS! Show wouldn't exist without them. Grow up.
Wrong, wrong! He sprayed the white twice on the hood, waste of time and money. Spray the black first, tape off. Spray the orange second, tape off then spray the white last. That way your not spraying twice and your not working over sprayed basecoat.
Ruined the truck with white and black on the frame, no account for taste when its all in your mouth. And there is a reason factories paint the hood in flat or semi gloss. Which was easier, spraying all those colors again or a little masking in the beginning. hmmm

What he described the second time around as fan control was the fluid setting. The top knob is the fan control, the one under it is fluid setting.
hahahahahahahahaha

very 👍
cool #pnsearch done
You can spend about $2-3k in just materials for a paint Job without ever sanding a panel lol. Paint and Clear is outrages these days

The cramped spray booth gave me anxiety.
Should have painted the frame metal flak gray.
What size tip and nozzle
