- Welcome to the Retro Tech Loft, thanks for stopping by, it is much appreciated!
RoboSapien is a toy-like biomorphic robot designed by Mark Tilden and produced by WowWee toys. Released in 2004, the Robosapien is preprogrammed with moves, and also can be controlled by an infrared remote control included or by a PDA. The product sold over 1.5 million units between April and December 2004, and was named "Toy of the Year" by the Toy Retailers Association.
In the video I state I have had this for 15 years, which is obviously wrong, it would have been about 17 to 18 years I think. Somewhere around 2005 I would imagine as it was a Christmas present from my wife they year after we got married.
Apologies for not researching the dates before making the video, but I was excited to try and get him working!
WowWee still makes the Robosapien, but the newer versions are bluetooth controlled with an App!

Mike, I wonder if you can buy an Apple USB-C converter to jack and see if that works or not. And I also believe they did a Bluetooth version of Robosapien. Still no Alexa on it. But there are people who may have made the Robosapien programmable with Alexa. For instances: “Alexa, make Robosapien dance to (song of choice)”. And it did. th-cam.com/video/rrGTR9FnSZ0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/users/shorts52QTEomHhmM?feature=share
So I believe if you buy the right products while you have the robot’s jack port that represents the WowWee logo, it may just do the job.
Try that.
