  • Welcome to the Retro Tech Loft, thanks for stopping by, it is much appreciated!
The Tatung Einstein was primarily aimed at business users when it was launched in the early 1980s. With its 80 column addon card and CPM compatibility, it was perfect for business. It just arrived a little too late.
Competing with the likes of the ZX Spectrum and the Amstrad CPC, the appeal for home use never really took off, even thouugh Tatung had some excellent programs.
The Einstein found a niche in the games development world at places like Ocean Software and Software Creations in the UK, where it was used as a development machine, downloading code to ZX Spectrums, Amstrads and even C64s via serial link. Many of the most famous games on these platforms were developed on the Einstein, but sadly never released on the source machine.
I have tasked myself with finding games that run on the Einstein that were never released, and are either mythical or only seen a handful of times.
In this video, I will showcase some of the latest RARE games I have found that were never released due to lack of user base, or incomplete code/development overrun.
So far I have found enough unreleased titles to make 2 and a bit videos, but I am always on the look out for more rare titles, either games or applications.
If you have any Einstein discs that have never been showcased, drop me a message. I would love to get my paws on anything unreleased or incomplete.
    Thanks for watching,
See you all in next weeks video.

I would definitely look into getting the colour to display. I'm thinking along the lines of you, scoring a joblot of disks from an old dev from the 80s and discovering unreleased game levels etc.

I have sorted the colour issue, which will be shown in a future video. Hopefully any newly discovered discs will now be shown in their glorious colours.
