I can see nailing the first bottom boards (and the top boards) the way you are but after that nail down at a 45 degree angle through the tongue. No nail holes. And you don't need to double nail those boards, one is fine. I love how you marked that board above the window. Smart!

Yea you should never break the drywall above a window
It's not how you nail tongue and groove. The nail goes at an angle through the base of the tongue.
