A vertical bow is not a problem. It is easy to get it to sit flat against the wall. A horizontal bow it much harder to fix. The point of the tongue and groove is that you don't have to face nail it. Only the top and bottom boards. To each his own. God bless you, Harvey! Money well spent. This is a great channel!!
Tongue and groove installations are so satisfying. And the nail gun is irreplaceable! Such great tips along the way! That's why we watch with anticipation for the next video.
My Great Grandmother lived high in the mountains in Germany. She used to say when the clouds were so low they almost touched the ground, you were standing at Heavens door. Your beautiful mountain reminds me of her sayings and learning German..lol
This is incredible! Nothing like building something with your own two hands. How long you been doing this? Had to come show your channel some love 🙏🏾 Keep at it!!
Enjoy watching your channel a bunch. We build very similarly (I'm a welder by trade but enjoy building with wood). My yome is cabin-ish, done a lot of knotty pine. Couple things you're likely aware of but thought I would mention just in case you're not...cut the ends at a 45 degree angle so when it shrinks you won't see the joints. Also, nail at a downward angle on the base of the tongue. You won't have any face nails except on your last board. Its all personal preference, your build (s) look great !! My 15 yr old son and I are gearing up for an off grid cabin on our property in Oswego county, upstate NY in the spring. Can't wait to get started!!
@@LifeontheMoose thanks! We can’t decide between tung oil and danish oil? Thoughts on these 2 oils? What made you decide on Tung oil? Thank you in advance!
@@CalicutsGoCountry I’ve used danish oil in a previous house, and was completely happy with it. I forget where, but someone was using Tung on pine and it looked good, too. So thought I would try it. Glad I I did. And that probably doesn’t help!
Mr. Heater units are pretty cool. Heat without carbon dioxide or monoxide. I had a large version in a mobile home I've been renovating on our 2nd property but replaced it with a Mr. Cool heat pump. I'm not sorry. And the A/C in the Summer is awesome. And I live in the Northeast. I have an 18 gauge Milwaukee M18 nailer. I've used it for a couple years now. No cords, no hoses.
You're really making some progress
This off grid cabin is looking awesome! What a view!
Ah thanks so much!
Looking good, thank you Harvey my father was a WW ll vet as well in Europe, he was born in 23
I appreciate the service.

Wow thank you so much! 🙏
Well done! I live in a log home and the interior is all tongue and groove, minus the log frame. All the best on you build.
Ah thank you! Sounds like a great home you have.

Our great grandparents might have been neighbors! Love that saying. I’m constantly in that state of appreciation and awe when I’m at the cabin.

Thank you kindly! Been doing construction on/off for 30 years.
Love all the wood

Hey nice! Let me know how the build goes. I appreciate you watching and commenting. 🙏
TheonlyOkay I'll let you have to😊
I love that you also have a UT400. We have one in our ranch and we are about to finish our offgrid cabin. Been watching your videos.
That’s awesome. Thank you for watching!
@@LifeontheMoose what oil did you use for your wood panels?
@@CalicutsGoCountry for the inside trim and ceiling, I used Whatco tung oil.
