    Sounds and looks great with some very solid numbers to back everything up. Very cool! Have a Holley Sniper on the 350 in my 68 Firebird, I'm 90-90% satisfied with it. Struggling with idle issues, but the EFI is so nice in the start up and driving manners. Hopefully I can get the idle figured out, acts like there is a vacuum leak but I've checked everything many times over at this point, frustrating. Looking forward to the port injection, something I've considered for when I rebuild this thing if I can't get the Sniper to behave.

      @@FastMonty Thanks for the tip. The TPS seems to be reading a normal, or expected value in the data but certainly worth another check. I'm basically trying to leave nothing at all unchecked before I'd consider throwing in the towel, so doing due diligence on checking everything multiple times over.
      Hey, in this dyno work this is with the T2 intake, yes? Since you've had it on for a while after the RPM, what differences have you noticed? Trying to decide between single or dual plane for my 350 stroker build. Butler said RPM, and I'm good with that but if one wants to go port injection, options get slim.
      And hold up a minute, why does it look like there are fuel rails on it in the intro part? Space occupiers or functional port FI? Sneaky.... :)

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kevin W yeah, I can't really fairly tell you the difference, because as you noticed I installed the single plane port injection manifold, with a standard throttle body. Knowing full well I'd be eventually converting to port injection. Great catch!

    Hey Monte! I’m glad the Fi-Tech unit has been great for you! I’m still interested in going EFI. Theres just so many choices out there. Some people have great luck with EFI and some don’t. But you can also say the same thing about carburetors. I guess I can try out the Fi-Tech and get the fi-tech sump pump with it. I can always keep my carburetor in my trunk incase efi fails on me on the road. It’ll just be a matter of putting the carburetor back on and re connecting to my mechanical fuel pump.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah Brother... the latest units out of FiTech are way more reliable than units from 10 years ago. Keep that in mind when you hear "negative stuff". The FiTech assemblies also use ACDelco replacement parts. I really doubt you'll have any issues, but yes, you could bolt the carb back on, in a pinch.

    Hi Monty, Why did the FiTech Tuner only rev the engine to 5,500rpm on the dyno pull? Your engine is more than capable to run up to 6,200rpm? Question 2. Why port injection? Other than looking cooler to some, IMO the money spent on that new system to gain maybe 20HP over the throttle body is just not worth it. Again in my opinion. If FiTech is sponsoring you then by all means go for it. Not trying to be snarky but 90% of the folks watching this channel probably aren't going to pluck down $3,000-$4000 for port injection.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions... One, you don't need to go past the HP/Torque peak. Two, we shall see... it's only about $600 more than normal, we shall see... Thanks!

    • @Danno74Z
      @Danno74Z ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FastMonty I would have like to have seen a baseline run prior to the FiTech Tech doing anything. How much HP/Torque did the engine make prior to any tuning using the built in computer? Other than look at some VE tables what "Tuning" did he do? Did he show you? Any timing adjustments etc? So the final number was 435HP/5,079RPM RWH. Now when you put on the port injection are you going to dyno the car again? Engine Masters did a very similar test - Carb vs. Throttle Body vs. Port Injection. In order of max HP achieved: Carb made the highest HP of the three followed by the throttle body then port injection. As you said above, "we shall see".

    • @Scottf5937
      @Scottf5937 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Port injection is more responsive, plus 20hp to the rear wheels is meaningful. I think most of us restomod guys put more money into our cars than we will ever see back in resale. We do it for fun. So port injection sounds like a great project!

    • @Danno74Z
      @Danno74Z ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Scottf5937 Hi Scott, I took a SWAG at 20HP gain at the rear wheels with port injection vs the throttle body. I have no idea. As you say, you do it for fun. Since this in not a high rev'ing engine and the FiTech Dyno Tech only went to 5,500rpm and they call it a torque monster IMO port injection is not going to get much if any increase in either torque or HP. But if FiTech is using this setup as a marketing tool go for it. One last thing. The title of this video is "Tips and Tricks for your Throttle Body Settings". There was not one of either and the Technician was very coy about showing anything. "Don't show anything" was the impression I got. Again, in my opinion.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Scottf5937 Thanks Scott... we shall see what numbers get put down, but to your point, this is a hobby that all of us restomod guys live being different, trying new technologies, and just have fun with it. I'm looking forward to the really nice starting, idling, and throttle response a port injected system helps with. We shall see!
