"For the opening of Neil's Puppet Dreams we wanted to capture the quintessential moment of the show; Neil entering the puppet world that exists in his dreaming mind. The strangeness of the puppet-verse intrigued us and we imagined a transition essentially between the waking world and the dreaming world. Visually we wanted to show Neil's insides as the inner workings of a puppet. We knew right away we wanted to do it all practical, and include the Henson Alternative puppet parts. So we proceeded by building the inside of Neil's head/brain out of meat and felt. It got a little smelly but it was worth it."

so much work for such a tiny clip. mad respect
That's awesome! I didn't realise it was all just layered piratical effects!
Yeah! I thought it was mostly CG. Mad props (excuse pun) for actually building all of that stuff!
The people at digital twigs are absolutely talented with great imagination on what they are planning to do. My favourite would be their work on rhett and link's mythical show.
anorhakeem3 you mean good mythical morning
Practical beats digital effects just about every time in terms of quality and watchability where it can be used. Bravo, guys! The work was worth it.
I thought it was computer animation... I'm gonna go in the corner and rethink my life...
this gives me a much better appreciation for what you guys have to go through just for the intro.
I know right!? I saw the title and was like "Behind the scenes of what? A metric F ton of computer animation?" But it was so much more. I feel like I will have a new appreciation for the intro.
Wow! Just fantastic!
Amazing how much work goes into an intro!
Thanks for sharing this, makes me respect it so much more.
woah, so much work. Congrats! :D it was really fun to watch
I love this intro. I didn't realize how much work when into making it. Great job guys!
Holy cow! So many layers!
I love this so much!
This is amazing.
The intro immediately caught my eye when I first saw one of the videos. I thought it was some remarkably good CGI, but this goes to show that nothing can beat practical effects combined with clever compositing.
Oh my goodness! I never thought about the amount of work required just to make the intro. Very cool!
Wow, had no idea it was that complex! Well done!
That was a clever use of bacon.
This is awesome
Wow, Congratz guys !

So much more work than I thought it was! Wow :O Had no idea there were so many genuine props. And love that even the behind the scenes is largely stop motion :))
INSANE amount of work...but it creeped me the fuck out so good job :)
