You're in a tough place - trying to save on a phone but having to put up with a budget phone's weaknesses. You could get lucky with the factory reset. Let me know if that improves it for you. If you do decide to upgrade, shop a reputable local shop for a samsung (or iphone is you like apple) that is a few years old - or - for a highly rated seller on ebay. I bought a used S21 5G (on ebay - about $200 or less used) and am super happy with it.
