The Ernie Ball Flats sound great. I have D'Addario Chromes on all my Fenders that sound great for rock. Been looking for some nice soulful strings and will give Ernie a chance

Man i had that same exact bass back in the 1990's but sold it because i couldnt record with it due to the 60 cycle humm from the single coil pickup. How were you able to get rid of that?
I have one of these … a CIJ 2007 or so. The tone knob does very little (seems to adjust the volume more than the tone … was told by my tech this was done to authenticate how the bass sounded in 1951).

I had the same issue. I got an ehx hum debugger and it solved my problem. Highly recommend that for any guitar or bass with a nasty hum
