Thanks for the deep dive on Templater! It made me realize I may need QuickAdd, thanks for showing it Personally I do it this way : I have a shortcut to add a specific template that I call Note template in every file (almost) that I create. I have filename prefix for each of my template, so whenever I want to add a new book for example, I type : "SB George Orwell - 1984". Then I insert my meta note template, which will have a bit of logic depending on the first 2 letters. in this case it will insert the book template in the file, add in the meta data the dates ect just like you have + author: [[George Orwell]] and title: 1984 and move the folder to my SB (sources/books). It's nice for mobile as well as I can do everything in 1 action. Just wanted to share it :)
Thank you for sharing your workflow Dylan. Have been using prefixes on some of my notes also. I like the SB idea, could work well for others too, Source/Video (SV) etc. Much easier than the whole word.
Hi. Could you share the dataview script for filtering your templates by "Daily" as you show in the video please. I have created a text box using Meta Bind and the output populates a metadata field but cant get dataview to filer a table based on this text. Assume you use dataview to search in the file.name the text "Daily".
Hi Steve, for sure. I use my Directory Template for Search for Templates in the Template Directory - ko-fi.com/s/fb702c412d If you're using a Meta Bind Input Field ensure the Field is binded to the YAML property in your note.
Thanks for the video. I set the template folder location in Templater. But In Template Hotkeys, Snippet folder files are not showing (only files under templates folder). Where to specify the code Snippets to use with slash command?
If the snippets folder is outside the templates folder you will need to manually type to snippet location inside Templater Hotkeys. The Command Pallete is the place to add the hotkeys once set in Templater. Slash command needs to be enabled in Obsidian Settings ;)
