Lantern Sailing under the Stars: Anchoring at Lost Anchor Rock

  • Took my Sunbird 16 sailboat out for the first time in 3 months. New battery and a radio making me confident. I also attempted to fish.
    Lost Anchor Rock is between Linwood and Pinconning in Saginaw Bay. I remember seeing the rock high and dry a decade ago when the water levels were low. Now, the rock is almost completely submerged.
    I wonder what other names people have given this boulder in the past 10,000 years. A boulder like this may not seem significant to some, but there is little exposed bedrock in the Saginaw Valley, with the closest bedrock to Linwood being over 15 miles to the north. It is the biggest natural glacial boulder I have seen here.

    Awesome video I'm glad you got some safety stuff. Wish we could of seen ya catch a fish. Also I like the lantern idea you should have two. And you should look into installing navigation lights on your boat for night sailing.
