The reason the Nintendo consoles didn't see the other Splatterhouse games was because Namco vowed to support Nintendo's rivals in protest of the way Nintendo treated their third party publishers. Even after Nintendo loosened up a little they still hardly released anything for the SNES compared to the TG-16/PCE and Genesis/MD. Regardless of that history, this is a fun little game. You don't really need a translation patch since most of the game is already in broken English.
That seemed necessary joke is one of my favorites jokes in the show! I used it at work every time our boss gets mad and throws a fit as soon as they leave the room I say that seemed necessary and everyone laughs
I wouldn't have thought a parody of Splatter house would have been any good, but I actually had a lot of fun with this title. I've always been a fan of the classic 80’s horror movies this, and the Splatter house series in general, is based on. If you’re a fan of those kinds of tropes, it’s worth checking out. Especially if you’re a fan of Friday the 13th or Evil Dead like I am.
ahbeef Did you buy it yet? If not, you might want to stay clear. I hear the controls are nut-twistingly bad. I'd probably buy it for about $6 though. I'll make that decision when it comes across.
This game is excellent, the precise controls shows us how good were the developers, plus a password system there's nothing to complain about this game, very spooky and fun to play.
SMB2 ending explained: It starts as a dream & then a Freddy Krueger style villain named Wart takes over Mario's mind. The fairy things represent his memories. That's why (HE FORGETS ABOUT FLOWERS, FORGETS HOW TO GET & USE MUSHROOMS & FORGETS HOW TO GET STARS). In the game, you save his mental sanity. In the ending he's not sighing because it never happened. He sighing because he can remember everything again.
Never thought there is a third Splatter House game, and I never thought that this Splatter House game is very much "lighter and softer, and cartoonier" than the previous ones, but still keeping the action-horror elements.
Great video! Game looks really cool. I'm surprised the nerd didn't beat you to this game given how much James loves the horror genre; then again, it's probably too good a game for one of his videos. Glad to see you're back to making game reviews! :)
"Why's the title in engliishhhshsh?!".. Yes roms, but also, there's a surprising amount of Japanese games with english written titles and text. Not in-game text usually, but menus and stuff at least.
Hahaha @ 2:30. So many game reviewers do that. Even JonTron and I still love his channel. I guess the gameplay in my videos would look better if I did it too. Also, this game looks awesome. I may have to get a Hoooooneeey Beeeee to play it.
wow...i remember this! after i enjoyed arcade version, i was looking for amicon version and found this...but it looked so goofy, i didn't bother to buy it. and i regret it now...
Excellent review, Pat. I say this game on the Famicom it's not bad. Not bad at all. It's too bad it was never released here. I like the game and I beat it. This horror genre of a game reminds me back with Castlevania and Ghost & Goblins.
Old NES Punks are a Classic and deserve a rewatch

Guess that explains why most of Namco's Famicom lineup was withheld from Nintendo Of America. Damn You, Nintendo.
That seemed necessary joke is one of my favorites jokes in the show! I used it at work every time our boss gets mad and throws a fit as soon as they leave the room I say that seemed necessary and everyone laughs
A cute version of Splatterhouse, I'm speechless.
It's like the Might Final Fight of Splatterhouse games. Haha!!
This totally would've been my favorite NES game as a kid. It should be made available on the Wii store if not already.
MikeDiFool it reminds me of monster party
Watched this during my lunch break and was cracking up the whole time. Thanks for making my day a whole lot better Pat ❤️

ahbeef Did you buy it yet? If not, you might want to stay clear. I hear the controls are nut-twistingly bad. I'd probably buy it for about $6 though. I'll make that decision when it comes across.

PAT in 1080p are you serious!? Dude you are the best... or at least right on up there, I love your videos.
Lol, the honey bee song was hilarious, the melody sounds exactly to "California here we.come" from loony toons or I love Lucy.
The next Halloween game you should review should be Castlevania and have James Rolfe as a special guest for this one! Dude.
Hooray Pat's Back! YAAH!
jason preistly. i almost died after hearing that
This game is excellent, the precise controls shows us how good were the developers, plus a password system there's nothing to complain about this game, very spooky and fun to play.
If he went back to the TurboGrafx-16, he needs to review The Home Console verison of the original Splatterhouse.
SMB2 ending explained: It starts as a dream & then a Freddy Krueger style villain named Wart takes over Mario's mind. The fairy things represent his memories. ReWatching your Halloween videos. Love the Channel
Wait so there is another dude named Rick that goes and kills zombies?
Never thought there is a third Splatter House game, and I never thought that this Splatter House game is very much "lighter and softer, and cartoonier" than the previous ones, but still keeping the action-horror elements.
How are the other games the "previous" ones when this was the first one?
it's a shame how much censorship there was back then
Splatterhouse 3 is what nightmares are made of.
Great video pat!! Good to see your back!
Wow this is the most well made famicom game I've seen next to Contra, and the NES black box games.
Sorry, not sorry, but I still laugh at the Jason joke every time.
I need another Pats Halloween video.
This was my only experience with the splatterhouse series before the xbox360 game. Safe to say I was in for a shock.
I like Pat's reviews. They're simple, good-natured, and fun. More than I can say for a lot of the retro reviews out there.
At around "4:15", there are legs coming out of the water in the background!
Best review thus far, imo. Good work, Pat.
OMG Yay! Pats back and its not a podcast video for once!
The Honey Bee song was fucking EPIC! lmao!

Great vid Pat! I had heard of "Naughty Graffiti" but never actually seen it being played, never mind being reviewed :) Great vid as always Pat! :)

Some nice evil dead moments in this game.
Great review, as always, Pat. Jason Priestly...hahahaha :D
Great video! Game looks really cool.
I'm surprised the nerd didn't beat you to this game given how much James loves the horror genre; then again, it's probably too good a game for one of his videos.

This video made me buy a honey bee for my top loader.
Does it still work?
Jason Priestley made me laugh xD
"Why's the title in engliishhhshsh?!".. Yes roms, but also, there's a surprising amount of Japanese games with english written titles and text. Not in-game text usually, but menus and stuff at least.
Happy Halloween pat
