All of Pats old videos are gold. The past few days I’ve been going back and rewatching some of them and there great. Thanks for the great memories Pat the NES Punk.
My brother actually got Spy Hunter and his NES at the same time. I don't know if it was a packaged deal or whatever. I know Nintendo bundled it with 2 controllers, Super Mario Bros and a Zapper gun. Best idea and value ever
I had Spy Hunter and Ikari Warriors as a kid too, and I loved them even though every gripe you have with them is true. I remember ABBA stopped working for my brother and I in stage 3, truly one of the most memorable gaming letdowns of my life
Whoa, I can just see the audio meter going deep into the red zone. Audio blowout! I remember Spyhunter, I had a lot of fun with it. Same with Ikari Warriors.
The ending is a tribute to a story called "The Gift of the Magi." A broke couple are trying to get Christmas gifts for each other. The wife cuts her hair and sells it, which Frank references, to buy a chain for her husband's pocket watch. The husband sells his pocket watch to buy her some hair clips, which she can't use.
The first Ikari Warriors game ever played was Ikari Warriors 3, and at the time, I thought it was the coolest game ever... despite the fact that you start off with NO WEAPON! WTF SNK??? It took me lots of quarters to realize that I would never beat that first stage.
guerilla war is my favorite run and gun game aside from the fact you play as fidel castro and chev guevara leading the revolution against cuba its a great shooter
Ahaha, I remember the rumors about being able to use the girl and ride the motorcycle in Spy Hunter. Also, I don't think we ever got past stage 3 in Ikari Warriors because of various glitches (like the aforementioned getting stuck in the environment). XD
I spent so many hours playing Spy Hunter on my NES as a kid. I remember a weird glitch where you could drive on the outskirts of the road without dying, and rack up a ton of points.
One of your best videos ever Pat! So funny - I remember being at recess in elementary school and talking to friends who said you must fight in hand-to-hand combat at the end of Spy Hunter! So funny you obviously heard the same thing as a kid!
Right on man, I had many a Hasbro Christmas, I have those figures MOC and a MISB H.I.S.S. Tank. I still pretty much have all my ARAH stuff from those days.
Much like Pat, I had Ikari Warriors and I loved the arcade version but did admit that the NES one was broken, but since it had the continue code, I really didn't care. Plus my friend Mike and I could play this game at the same time! which was mind blowing for the NES since so many other games had turned into alternating play games.
I was like 6 or 7 when i got my Genesis. I had no idea what is was. I was more excited about the power rangers all 5 (that was the first xmas w/ them). To find out my mom bought two sets of 5 and kept 5 as collectibles. still got them upstairs, they look brand new. I have no idea how she got them. All my friends that year got the pink and yellow rangers. I guess that was all they had.
glad to see Frank is finally starting to act a little better, his dialog is much more fluid now. Great episode Pat! You coming back up to portland anytime this summer? I have an old M82 unit that my mom got when sears closed down in Bend years ago. I wouldn't feel right selling it as i never really played on it, i just kept it as an oddity i a box. If you could promise me you'd never sell it i'd totally donate it to you. You have entertained me and my GF for 3 years now and i wanna pay you back
Christmas in July is the time of the year, time to play Christmas music, no, I have two games "Ikari Warriors" and "Spy Hunter". In the first half "Spy Hunter" has no ending, but it is endless, just like they did with "Pac-Man", "Galaga", "Space Invaders" and a few others, no ending at all. "Ikari Warriors" does indeed have an ending.
"Ikari Warriors" is a hard and tedious game when you continue, just hit "ABBA", the code which was used by a 70's Swedish group that did "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Fernando", "Lay All Your Love On Me", "Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimme" and others. The game was made by the fans of ABBA.
Anything with Frank is just the best!
Pat I literally watch one or two of these review/skits before i go to bed at night. Thanks man!
Spy Hunter.
DOES
NOT
END
All of Pats old videos are gold. The past few days I’ve been going back and rewatching some of them and there great. Thanks for the great memories Pat the NES Punk.
pats face when frank told him he dident sell the van LOL
where did their hair go, Damn scrotom guns
I don't know about anyone else, but I think the "25 years ago" bit was downright hilarious.
It’s my favorite.
I think Frank Zappa faked his death and assumed this new identity with Pat.
And he kept his first Name?
@@forteerick937 Well yeah..dude still has an ego.
My brother actually got Spy Hunter and his NES at the same time.
I don't know if it was a packaged deal or whatever. I know Nintendo bundled it with 2 controllers, Super Mario Bros and a Zapper gun.
Best idea and value ever
16:02 best twist ever.
"How important do you think you are?" :D
Cracks me up.
I had Spy Hunter and Ikari Warriors as a kid too, and I loved them even though every gripe you have with them is true. I remember ABBA stopped working for my brother and I in stage 3, truly one of the most memorable gaming letdowns of my life

#woah I never heard of something like that before! tell me more grandpa!
+mattorama I know that story!!!!!!!!!! It's kind of depressing at first. But REALLY gets to you in the end.............
Recognized that too. My first experience with a story in that vein was Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.
I liked the Futurama version the Best 😄
The first Ikari Warriors game ever played was Ikari Warriors 3, and at the time, I thought it was the coolest game ever... despite the fact that you start off with NO WEAPON! WTF SNK??? It took me lots of quarters to realize that I would never beat that first stage.
guerilla war is my favorite run and gun game aside from the fact you play as fidel castro and chev guevara leading the revolution against cuba its a great shooter
I remember that rumor about the helicopter and playing for hours trying to get to that stage.
I’ve only been down that river a few times in 20+ years.
also, Ikari Warriors is the definition of the term "Spray and Pray".
Majority of the arcade games never had endings, because they wanted you to come back and play it again in the arcade.
There is an ending you have to take a certain path. I remember seeing a map back in the day. Its staying mostly right with a few lefts.
Still one of my holiday traditions, Merry Christmas Punk!
Ahaha, I remember the rumors about being able to use the girl and ride the motorcycle in Spy Hunter. Also, I don't think we ever got past stage 3 in Ikari Warriors because of various glitches (like the aforementioned getting stuck in the environment). XD
12:35 "ABBA.... will not save you today..."
Nice AVGN refrence
"HEY, you forgot the fair-kid games!"
The PS2 remake of Spy Hunter was pretty crazy awesome.
That shirt off joke was funny as fuck.
I spent so many hours playing Spy Hunter on my NES as a kid.
I remember a weird glitch where you could drive on the outskirts of the road without dying, and rack up a ton of points.
Holy shit there’s a snow area !? I haven’t made it there yet. I’m on it.
Could you also someday review P.O.W. Prisoners of War for the NES?
I'm impressed you bought a Fairchild Channel F!!! Hats-off to you sir! Still, no Odyssey2 with the Voice?
I just found a new yearly Christmas special to add to my rotation.
The best ending of any video game ever was Spy Hunter. It ends with you uppercutting a waterfall.
young Pat sure is hairy...and swears a lot :)
Midnight resistance a Contra look-a-like game also had that rotary joystick but that game came out several years later.
Frank is a freaking legend!!
Spyhunter was one of my first games I got too along with metal gear when I got my NES
9:05 Pat I think you've scarred me for life...
My gosh, Pat reeeally knows how to sell being overly-depressed at Christmas...
One of your best videos ever Pat! So funny - I remember being at recess in elementary school and talking to friends who said you must fight in hand-to-hand combat at the end of Spy Hunter! So funny you obviously heard the same thing as a kid!
Guerilla War is the best game of this type. Go play that game instead of Commando or Ikari Warriors.
ajre82 Agreed. It was the best bargain-bin game ever! It's like Contra, no matter how many times you beat it, it never got old.
ajre82 hell yea guerilla war rocks
I agree. Guerilla War is what Ikari Warriors should have been. Underrated gem on the NES.
I fucking love Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Frank looks like the UFC cut guy
He looks like a homeless Einstein
Right on man, I had many a Hasbro Christmas, I have those figures MOC and a MISB H.I.S.S. Tank. I still pretty much have all my ARAH stuff from those days.
If I do not count Duck Hunt and Gyromite which came with my NES, Elevator Action and 1942 are the first games I bought for my NES.
DAMN......................THAT'S where Paul and Ralph from Metal Slug 6 and King of Fighters came from!
Much like Pat, I had Ikari Warriors and I loved the arcade version but did admit that the NES one was broken, but since it had the continue code, I really didn't care. Plus my friend Mike and I could play this game at the same time! which was mind blowing for the NES since so many other games had turned into alternating play games.
just throw milk at them
I GET THE DISTINCT FEELING that this is, in fact, not actual footage of Pat 25 years ago!
I actually started to look forward to christmas because of this:p
That music is also on Rock n Roll Racing
I like how it's in huge font so no one can possibly miss it... OH WAIT.
9:05 Kirk Lazarus voice: Pat... shredded like a Julienne salad... :)
thats funny. i actually remember playing spy hunter and getting rather far in it and wondered how long the game was
Nice Saluki's shirt! I'm from South IL. Represent haha
You can actually get the llama fucking end to Spyhunter by first buying a llama.
thumbs up for Sierra Nevada celebration ale. lol. Frank rocks!
I was like 6 or 7 when i got my Genesis. I had no idea what is was. I was more excited about the power rangers all 5 (that was the first xmas w/ them). The boat is the same shape as damn the torpedoes
glad to see Frank is finally starting to act a little better, his dialog is much more fluid now.

It's been awhile since I've seen this episode. Still had me cranking up.
Sold the van? It's in the shop, I sold the shovel. Bwhahahaha!
1. Pat's got hair on even the inner arms
2. A+ Adam Sandler voice
3. Pat Rambo
Wow, awesome Ikari Warriors cosplay done in 5 mins xD
Christmas in July is the time of the year, time to play Christmas music, no, I have two games "Ikari Warriors" and "Spy Hunter". Clearly a mirror image of bump 'n' jump. :) Thanks for this channel.
Exactly. I loved Spy Hunter as a kid. However I remember playing it for HOURS, in the futile effort to try and BEAT it, lol.
Have you ever done a video on Cabal?
Can we see what ARAH stuff you have in a future video?
We're starting to catch up over here :D I've already seen it, but I can always watch it again ^_^
frank is a natural actor!
I guess no one pays attention to the beginning of the videos?
I loved the Burger Time T-Shirt
Pat- "You dont hump a lama!"
Me- "NOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
Awesome Saluki's t-shirt.
4:15 leave it to Rob to tell pat the truth behind his troubles
Did frank go to Southern Illinois?
Woah Pat I didnt know you were ripped! *whistles*
14:31 But I do have a good friend. *Picks up virtual boy*
Avgn review that ikari warrior too and Spy Hunter waa my favorite action games Bally Midway.
How did you acquire a Lionel Kiddie City christmas banner?
Could someone tell me if its worth getting the new super set
Gotta remember, these were coin guzzlers in the arcades..
Did frank go to siu you don't see many salukis shirts around
Frank rocking the SIU shirt!
Why did the video air so late on youtube? Just wondering, don't necessarily have a problem with it.
Pat you and your videos are awesome 😎
9:05 "What...?" LOLZERS!
Love the shirt Frank. I'm a proud SIU alum. Go Salukis!
God I love Frank. He's just some guy with eclectic taste in shit and cracks me up every time. God love ya, Frank.
Did Frank attend SIU?
"Ikari Warriors" is a hard and tedious game when you continue, just hit "ABBA", the code which was used by a 70's Swedish group that did "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Fernando", "Lay All Your Love On Me", "Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimme" and others. The game was made by the fans of ABBA.
Egg Nog is awesome, it tastes exactly like a milkshake ^^
DAMN!!! Pat is buff!!! Just look at those guns!!! 9:05
i liked ikari warriors i guess it was fun since i would always play with friends...
pat's dad: "come on pat, open the SEALED gi joe figures so you can play with them..."
Pat the NES Punk Dude is that a "Burger Time" tshirt ? 1 of the first Nes games I played !
Would this work good with the NES advantage?
i love the ending of this one hahaha
PAT + FRANK = PURE AWESOMENESS! ANOTHER GREAT VID GUYS, ROCK ON. LIKE AND COMMENT ALL THE WAY.
Do you really have the kiddie city seasons greetings banner hahahaha
It's like Christmas in July.
