I was screamed at online for saying Cleopatra was from the Ptolemy line who were Grecian/Macedonian in origin. Oh boy. I got that I was racist. She came from Africa so she was black, black, black. It went on for weeks. I made the stupid mistake of writing back saying that I wasn’t racist, I have many Egyptian friends but it didn’t solve the problem that cleopatra had Grecian background in her line. They didn’t marry out of the family. Anyway - gave up. It was awful. It was a history program, one doesn’t expect vitriol from a history channel! They’re everywhere, it’s like a game to them. 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

That's correct, Egyptians are North Africans and looked like North Africans, who were genealogically similar to their middle-eastern neighbors in Mesopotamia. The only time black sub-Saharan Africans ruled Egypt was during the 25th Dynasty following the invasion and conquest of Egypt by the Nubians from the kingdom of Kush in Sudan, who were later driven out of Egypt by the Assyrian Empire over a century later.

It seems the people in Egypt today are a 3rd world, behind society. Some are from the middle east. The name Egypt comes from the Roman's or Greeks I have read. They hated middle easterners. A study of the Romans& Greeks at their rise to power around 300 b.c. would shed much light on the Egyptians today. But I don't think that they are natives. They were put in positions by the Europeans. And now they try to claim the history of ancient Egypt. The concept is very interesting. Because the Europeans demonstrated the same traits everywhere they were able to conquer. Modern Egyptians? Native? I don't think so.

"Their own true heritage"? What are you talking about? All examinations of DNA, hair, skin and skeletal remains of pre-dynastic and early dynastic mummies show they were sub-Saharan not Caucasian. Ancient Egyptian civilization began in modern day south central Sudan, not mesopotamia or even northern Egypt. They spoke an Afro-Asiatic language which is a language family that began in an area that encompasses western Ethiopia, northern Uganda and southern Sudan. Egyptian hieroglyphs are a pictographic writing system that has symbols for animals, vegetation, religious and philosophical concepts exclusive to inner Africa and black cultures but none for things from the middle east or Europe. Ancient Egyptians worshipped African gods who are still worshipped by sub-Saharans to this day, they had African social institutions, traditional rites of passage and customs, they styled their hair just as other Africans did at the time and still do to this day. Hairstyles that can't be replicated with non-african hair.
I know for a fact you were not aware of the things I just mentioned. This is why I hate the internet. It's a platform for people who don't know jack to give uneducated opinions that are based on nothing but stupidity and cultural baggage. Just look up the damn Egyptian hieroglyph for human face/humanity. Its literally the face of a sub-Saharan man. Educate yourself before talking nonsense. DO BETTER!!!!

This red hue is due to oils, resins, oxidation and environment. Not because they had red hair. Blue eyes would be rare in this region, due to the fact most ancestral traits are a product of environment, and because of high exposure to sunlight, one would have more melanin in skin and in eye color. The east african used to live along all of Africa’s Mediterranean coast and the upper reaches of the nile was occupied by a Sudanese nation state called Ta Seti. This is the truth. All those statues are perfectly in line with east African and Sudanese facial features and phenotypes. They are distinctly African. Look at 0:16 , those are clear and distinct Sudanese features and notice how the clear facial contours are smoothed out to accommodate the asiatic look. It just shows that there is a “desired outcome bias” at play. The people of KMT were African. Nimrod is Narmer and Narmer/Nimrod built the first empire that spanned from Africa to the East. The old, middle and new Kingdoms of KMT were created by Africans and they were the natives of the land and masters of their world. Everyone else were foreigners.

With Pharaoh Sahure I noticed the lips decrease and the eyes were lifted slightly which makes the skull more modern Caucasian like. They also decreased the nose and ears also. From my research on the hieroglyphs they were also a deep red complexion. And no I don’t want to hear it’s because of the sun because lighter complexioned people were also on the wall. As an artist myself this was intentionally done to change faces.

Ask yourself this question, why is it so important to you for her not to have brown skin, when every piece of evidence demonstrates that she did indeed have brown skin?

Great job! Although I believe the skin tones of Old Kingdom pharaohs in particular should probably be a lot darker, closer to reddish brown. Ancient Egyptians didn’t traditionally depict themselves having the same skin color as Asiatics or Mediterranean people although I’m sure there was a lot of individual variation.
Upper Egypt was the cradle of ancient Egyptian civilization. It lies about halfway between the Nile Delta (Lower Egypt) and Nubia. The early pharaohs took very good care to conquer both lower reaches of the Nile and make sure that there were no competitors left in the upper reaches of the Nile - they pretty much completely destroyed the northern Nubian A group culture that in shared some features of the Upper Egyptian culture. This left ancient pharaohs in sole control of the Nile and its important trade routes.
I think too little attention is paid to how ancient Egyptians viewed themselves: what did they think made them Egyptian? Because they really saw themselves as different from other folks around them. Finally, a lot less is still known about the culture of the Nile Delta (Lower Egypt) although over the years it became more similar to Upper Egypt. Early Upper Egypt seems to have roots that go back to the cattle culture of Saharan herders (e.g. Nabta Playa) and other folks who lived around the Nile valley before Sahara turned into desert.

Stop rewriting and stealing Egyptian History. Are you really think Egyptian Wall painting are showing 100% Egyptian Skin Color? Like Egyptians Minoans and later Etruscans also Portrayed their Men with reddish Brown Color despite having 100% European DNA. Egyptians depicted themselves like that to difererantiate themselves from North Africans( wich were depicted with Fair Skin)and Middle Easterners. Upper Egypt were Egyptians like Lower Egypt. Nothing to do with Nubians. Stop spreading Africentric Misinformation. And the Cradle of Egyptian Civilization was Lowere Egypt because it was heavily Influenced by the Middle. East.

Scientists recovered mitochondrial genomes from 90+ individuals at Abusir el-Meleq (see below). Sub-Saharan influence was largely absent. Also, Ancient Egyptian sculptures primarily used basalt and granite which tend to be dark. They also sometimes used "Egyptian Blue" pigment for sculptures which darkens over time.
"They discovered that ancient Egyptians closely resembled ancient and modern Near Eastern populations, especially those in the Levant. What's more, the genetics of the mummies remained remarkably consistent even as different powers conquered the empire. . . Although the mummies contain almost no DNA from sub-Saharan Africa, some 15% to 20% of modern Egyptians' mitochondrial DNA reflects sub-Saharan ancestry." - Science Magazine
"The study found that ancient Egyptians were most closely related to ancient populations in the Levant, and were also closely related to Neolithic populations from the Anatolian Peninsula and Europe. 'The genetics of the Abusir el-Meleq community did not undergo any major shifts during the 1,300 year timespan we studied, suggesting that the population remained genetically relatively unaffected by foreign conquest and rule' . . ." - SciTechDaily
