World of Final Fantasy - Capturing Ultima Weapon

- This video shows how to capture the Mirage Ultimate Weapon, which is required for 100% completion of the Mirage List.
The key to this is hitting Ultima weapon with something that does more than 25k damage to create the opportunity.
There are a couple ways you can do this, with magic or with physical attacks, your choice. I did it with magic as you can see in the video.
If you want to do it like I did you'll need some things.
First you have to complete all the post game dungeons so you can remove the humans from your stacks and use all monsters.
Then you'll need 3 Mirages:
1. Shiva (the one with a star, not the one that you get from transfiguring another Mirage). This gives you Blizarja, most powerful single target ice spell.
2. Vampire - This gives the MAG ability you see used in several times in the video.
3. Brrblizz - This gives you Ice Magic damage boost.
You'll then need to get them up to around 96 or so.
You'll need the Faith spell for your other stack.
You'll also need an Eldbox to capture it.
Then just follow what you see in the video and you'll be good to go.
It's worth noting this will also work with Master Tonberry, who is also a big powerful one you have to catch for 100%.

You can get that guy far easier whith a simple baby tonberry. Just make sure you have a decent team (lvl 70-75 Lann&Reyn, lvl 60 mirages) and a lot of items to heal. And then just survive long enough to accumulate a lot of damage to pette grudge. Did around 40000 damage for me.
I used baby tonberrys Petty Grudge, kept hitting Laan (curing him back to health too) with his tonberry until he was injured enough for Petty Grudge to deal 25k+
I found another way to catch him ^^ just try to level up Bahamut ~65 and use his Megaflare. Way faster then level up to 96+^^
I haven't used Bahamut myself but that's great news should it work (not saying it doesn't, just that I haven't personally verified it).
yes it do^^ megaflare is very strong and. the point is the lower the hp and ap from bahamut so stronger is his megaflare. i just killed all mirages xenomega and the other xenoform in the 4th dungeon with ~ level 70
Attempted with Level 50 Bahamut and did 23,000 (With very low hp and 2ap left) So level 65 should hit the damage threshold easily enough with Megaflare.
That's good new for everyone then, as that would be much less grinding than the method I used.
Megamirages can't be used in the arena fights
given that lv and HP, I wonder if you'd be capable of clearing some fights while unstacked...
How do i get a black & white brrblizz? Never seen 1 before.
It comes from the Post Game dungeon. Each of the first 3 Post Game dungeons has a stack of 3 boss monsters at the end that correspond with fire, ice and lightning.

I choose Bahamut on Ultima Weapon. Ultima Weapon uses Full Power to lose Bahamut's HP and Bahamut's Attack on himself that costs 2 AP. Once Bahamut's HP and AP came to near empty, I use Megaflare on Ulty and got 33k of dmg that activates the Imprismity.
This could literally be as simple as 'just go out and grind' but is there a way to level up quickly in this game?
Anyway, nice strat for Ultima! I'm at that point now where I'm trying to get Ultima now instead of getting him post-game
You can get 75k a battle from the Intervention quest where you fight Shivalry and the Golden Flan. That's what I used to level up before the post game.
If you want to do it before the post game you may want to try using the Bahamut method someone else commented with, as the method I used requires characters that are almost level 99 and that would take forever without the amount of XP you get in the Post Game dungeons.

Honestly I was lazy with mirage setup and played the game with some pretty basic ones. You can see the setup I used for most of the game in the video where I fought XG.
Some of the most powerful ones I've noticed though are Magitek armor. Their special beam attacks are crazy strong, and they also learn a passive ability that lowers SP cost of abilities by 1. The Vampire is also very strong with it's Evade and Counter and MAG absorbtion technique.
It probably would, but Omega can be Transfigured from Entom Guard, which may be an easier choice. Your call.
Thanks for your answer, but let me ask you one more question, in order to gain the trophies for the minigames you must play them via intervention, on the brother'sroom or it doesnt matter?
The 3 trophies I have Blitzball Ace, The Fast and the Nebulous and Zip Zip WhACK! are earned from playing the games in the Twins' room. I don't have the last one yet.

Absorb MAG is a vampire only move, I recall. Which is why this run only had 2 instead of 3 ice elementals in the stack.

That is correct. I think I just forgot to change it back before the battle, as I was also working on 100% Mirages and had been doing a lot of transfiguring.
Use Bablizz if you use this method, not only does it have a second enhanced ice on another of its forms, there's also a little more magic+ abilities too.
Deal a lot of damage at once. That is the mother of all Prismunities.
Does Ramuh* and Zapt / Ifrit* + baby ifrit work also or it has to be Brrblizz / Shiva*?
They should work just fine as Ultima Weapon has 0 for all elemental resistance, but I can't guarantee anything beyond Shiva because that's the only way I've done it myself.
Tested with Ramuh* + Zapt Lv 72, can deal 10k damage with this method but can't capture him.

Yes it has to be 25k at once, and it won't happen unless everyone in the stack is like lvl 96+ unfortunately. That sounds about what the Shiva stack was doing at that level though so it should indeed be fine.
how come reynn isn't in the other stack? how did you remove her from the party?
Once you complete the final part of the story you can remove Lann and Reynn from the stacks and use all Mirages.
So, I just did 30304 damage to the guy in one attack, but the prismtunity didn't activate. I realise now, as I am writing this comment, that it is because I forgot to bring an eldbox....
Anyway, dealing 30k damage to him is actually REALLY easy no matter what your level is. All you need is a stack with focus and gravity. Focus changes gravity into doing approximately 37% damage instead of the usual 25% The best part is, you can use that trick no matter how weak your guys are, and it takes almost no setup time at all.
Although, if you are low level it will be tough to survive his attacks, so maybe have someone capable of casting haste in your other stack, so your graity stack get's to take the two turns needed for the combo

how did you power level to 90s quickly?
Used the Shivalry/Golden Flan Intervention Quest from the Girl Who Forgot Her Name in the Tearoom until I reached the Post Game Dungeons, leveled in the first 3 until I reached the 4th Post Game Dungeon, and then I used the area right before XG's teleport to farm the Chocochicks and Mu's that appear there in groups to do the main leveling.
Bring someone with good attacks that hit all enemies so you can wipe out the groups of Mu's and Chocochicks quickly once you reach that point.
I imprism this guy using iron giant and bahamut, iron giant+berserk reduce its hp up until 50+k then replenish using mega ethr then summon bahamut let bahamot lower his hp up to 40k+ just be sure to have bahamut hp on the red zone then unleash his mega flare it will deal a damage around 30k+ depends on how low his hp is and it always gives me the imprism status and after that ultimate has around atleast 9k below hp left, i use subdue to reduce it to 700hp i couldnt imprison him while he still is in the 1k+ hp but below 1k he can be imprison 😅
Or you can just use Faith + Gravity like I did, you know, for quicker process.
you know, your setup is a little... lacking. first off, if youre gonna use such high levels, the normal bablizz is fine, since Enhanced ice carries over between transfigs.. second, youre better off using Shivalry as the L in the stack, as he has two enhanced ice abilities, meaning the whole stack would have 4 enhanced ice(the Bablizz can learn a second enhanced ice through shivalry)... thirdly, Blizzaja is created when combining two high level Blizzard type magics on separate units in the stack, so you could use Blizzaga+Blizzaga, Blizzaga+Diamond Dust, even Diamond Dust + Ice Storm works i believe, as long as two different units have the skill(which, if your boards are mastered, would be entirely true). and finally, because of the 3 facts above, you can actually do it using any of those 3 elements, substituting bablizz with Zapt and shivalry with Ramewl(who is adorable) or using Fritt and Ifreeta. Of course, you need to use the Star versions of Shivalry, Ramewl, or Ifreeta, but if youre facing off against Ultima Weapon, you've probably captured most of the others anyway. with this in mind, you might be able to do it earlier than 90.
edit: however, since the "dark" versions of ramuh, shiva, and ifrit are all part of the same mirage board group, your sync rating will be a little lacking if you dont capture those ones.

No, means that he can't be stacked with any other mirage, only Reynn and Lann.

You should be able to buy them from the Choco Mart lady in the Promenade.
Hi how to get Blizzaja ?
Blizaja is move Shiva (the one with a star, not other form of Brrblizz) learns on her Mirage Board.
Combine 2x Blizaga on different mirages.
Each tier of spell combines with 2 lower tiers.
Except Meteor, which is obtained by combining Blizaja, Firaga and Thundaga. And if you can manage 2 Meteors, you'll get Ultima.

Do you mean on my characters or the damage they inflicted? It's from being almost level 99 and having their Mirage Boards 100% mastered.
If you mean the damage they are doing to capture Ultima Weapon the necessary method is outlined in the Video Details section of the video.

HP is just from their high levels and mastered Mirage Boards. They are all around 96-99.
Best place to level depends on what you have access to. I used the Intervention quest where you fight the male Shiva and the Giant Jiggle blob until the post game dungeons, then the post game dungeons once I had those. A good place is the 4th post game dungeon right before the teleport to XG (final boss of 4th post game dungeon). There groups of 6 chocochicks and mu's appear there and give like 200k a battle. Once you're strong enough to wipe them out with a single spell it was where I leveled to 99.
okay, 4 post game dungons? i see only 3 doors in the post game in the room from the namles girl. in one i was looking. at the and was a other shiva but have instand kill me. mean you this area for leveling? the mobs very strong there. i so lvl 65

Because when you complete the final part of the main game you can take Reynn and Lann out of the stacks and have 3 Mirages if you prefer.
I'm calling BS I did this same trick move for move and just barely cleared 1700 damage let alone 27,000
Are your characters ~lvl 96? It doesn't work unless everyone in the stacks are about that level.

+Kontroller Korner. But to answer your question, no. I beat the game with lv 38s lol. I hate grinding cause it seems like once my stack jumps 5 lvs it stops giving XP across the party and just starts randomly giving it to certain memebers. So Idk.
Others have suggested that you can use a lvl 60's Bahamut to get this done using his Mega Flare or one of his other abilities (not sure on the details, I haven't confirmed this method myself). Check through the comments or search for more info on that if you want a different method that may take less grinding. However, you'll have to do a ton of grinding if you want to get the trophy for 100 Mirage boards mastered, so it may be worth doing it the way I show it anyways.
As for XP, your 6 characters in the stacks (2 stacks 3 characters per stack) get the majority of any experience earned. Every other Mirage in your possession (I think you can carry 10 aside from your stacks?) get a percentage of the experience earned in a battle. In other words everyone you are carrying should be getting at least some XP in every battle. It just gets a lot slower the higher you go as you need more to get a level.
There is an XP Plus Mirajewel that helps too, but I can't remember where I got it at the moment. Probably off a Mirage Board though.
There are some easy grinding areas for XP though. If you visit the Girl in the Tea Room who forgot her name she will let you replay quests you did through the game. If you do the one where you fight fight the Male Shiva (can't remember his name at the moment) and the Golden Flan (Big Jiggle), you get 75k XP per battle.
Or if you're strong enough fight enemies in the Post Game Dungeons. A particularly good area is the area where the teleport to the optional boss XG in the 4th post game dungeon. Groups of 6 Chocochicks and Mu's appear here, and as you get stronger you can wipe them out with one attack that hits all enemies (like Shiva's Diamond Dust) and get 200k+ XP in a matter of moments per battle. With a save point right there too you can refill AP after every battle and grind very efficiently.

You don't even need to capture them for 100% Mirage List completion, just need to fight them once and its already in the list after.
It does not count toward 100% Mirage Mastery trophy unless you have possessed the Mirage, either through capturing or transfiguring.
It does show up in the manual just by seeing it, but you'll see that it's greyed out. I had everything in there but didn't get the trophy until I had possessed everything.
is there an omega weapon in this game?
There are Omega (the robot that wanders the rift shooting its wave cannon) and an advanced form of Omega, though. Maybe you meant these?
