3:56 what a nonchalant way to give one of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve heard, that really helped me realize why I’m struggling so much to create, amazing video as always!
Haha brother just find a way to make this incredibly hard and frustrating world of filmmaking simple and fun for yourself. It’ll get out of hand if you don’t control it. There’s no such thing as perfect, so just make it happen!
If your dad didn’t like the pooping shot, what’s he say about the humping in public shot? 😂. I loved all of it! Maybe Anna will make it into more videos in the future???…. Not necessarily humping though. Y’all have a great day and can’t wait for the trailer!
I was literally about to come down here and post a comment about this exact thing and how it spoke to me. I haven't made a video in over a year because I've overthought my entire life to death and basically paralyzed myself. Been slowly trying to get back out of my head and back into my life for so long now. Danny if you see this, thank you. I watched the little film when you posted it and it really inspired me. The simple things in life are kind of the most beautiful to me
Man Danny I took a gap year from film school and the first 6 months were great but I think i juiced myself out creatively. December - March was just a very dry and stale period with nothing really coming to me. Watching this video last week sparked all the creative wires in my brain and I've been going out everyday to shoot. You're really out here changing lives on the daily brother. Can't wait to see the trailer! Love you
Whenever I feel creatively exhausted, I just come back to you and your channel and it's like finding a lush little oasis in the middle of a very dry desert. You always makes me fall in love with filmmaking again. Much love 🤍
Danny I’m a beginner filmmaker from Ethiopia, one day by youtube suggestion i saw your video and I swear on my momma it made me wanna do this film shit. Now i actually get paid to do it eternally grateful to you. And you keep inspiring me still, thank you very much!
I appreciate how you make these short mini docs look so simple once you break it down and like you said once you grasp the concept of cinematography then it gets easier 🔥👌🏾
A danny Gevirtz video comes out and after see it blows my mind and makes me want to grab my camera and record anything, thanks man you're so inspiring to the video community, cheers from Argentina
I loved last weeks video. Am happy this that Danny focuses less on gear and goes through the creative process. It gives us (young aspiring filmmakers) hope that we can make good work without expensive gear. It really builds our motivation
I'm not a filmmaker. Not into filmmaking. But your _An Ordinary Day in 2023_ popped up on my home feed. I watched it. And I thought it was awesome. So I watched this video to see how it's done. Lol.
I don't know why but that disclaimer about you and Anna being married when talking about the dry humping sound design got the loudest laugh out of me that I've had in the past month. I have no idea if that was a planned line or you though of it on the spot but man it was a good one 😂
Thank you for making this behind the scene video. These are the best ones out of all. Helps so much to understand what goes on in your head when you do shoots and editing. Really really appreciate it Danny. Keep them coming. Cheers!
Hi Danny! Did you consider fully switching to DaVinci Resolve? I'm stuck in this dilemma and would love to hear your thoughts. Rather than handling separate things in different softwares, I think that it would be easier to handle all the stuff in single interface. But I'm to scared to learn a whole new program :(
This is going to sound stupid, but the little 'I love yous' at the end of the videos always catch me by surprise and take me a second to process before I figure out how much I loved hearing it. So , I love you too, have a beautiful shooting and editing session.
Now that I work in video advertisement, and creating videos aren't a side hustle anymore. I've been getting just overwhelmed with workload, deadlines, balancing quality and hitting goals. And I haven't done any "filmmaking" since I got this job last August. Seeing this video, as mundane as it is lol, sparked me up a bit. I want to make a simple small video like this, but I have no time and if I do have time, I'm burnt out and just want to rest. haha. Anywho, thanks for being a constant inspiration man. I got your thank you email video, and honestly, timing was perfect. I actually got teary eyed simply watching you say thank you. haha. Keep on being you man, love ya.
Thank you for taking the time and sharing. This video is inspiring! Was really hoping you talked about how you filmed the scene sitting in the living room watching tv. That was such a dope shot!!
Literally burst out laughing at the scene with you and Anna. I love your work. Post more stuff like this. You are giving me more hope with my fresh journey in videography. Thanks again!
Eu realmente adoro quando você ensina coisas simples de fazer com poucos equipamentos, pois isso ajuda muito quem trabalha com orçamento zero, como eu. Obrigado de verdade.
@@DannyGevirtz they basically said they love your videos and how you teach the simple things for people who work on a low budget, and they are really thanking you!
Awesome breakdown! I learned a lot from it. The simplicity in lighting techniques is what gets me so excited. Can't wait for Mundane Beautiful pt.2 haha
Wow I got so inspired by last week's video, so needless to say my day has been made with this! Thank you Danny for both your insane creativity and your generosity to go behind the scenes for us. Incredible stuff as always
Love these breakdowns, simple, elegant and beautiful. I usually use magnets with my pavotubes when I don’t have space for c stands but I love the idea of just balancing on some nails, I’ll have to use it for my own shower shots. Keep making awesome content Danny, I love you.
Love watching your videos. Colour makes a massive difference to the finished film. My last film had a colourist, and it's something I'm gutted. I never used on other projects
I think the reason those camera angles look awesome is because the human eye is not used to being at that level most of the time. We often experience events that are right in front of us. The moment we experience them from a different eye level. All of a sudden the experience feels novel.
Thank you for inspiring to be a better filmmaker Danny! On the shot where you brush your teeth i actually thought: wow cool! i'm not the only one who gets the toothpaste all over the face :) The images look great, am inspired to do something similar!
Hey! New here, really enjoyed this breakdown. I'd love to see more and just subscribed for that same reason. You're a pretty good teacher! Also, little cinematography tips like the one you shared about how a lot of it is "using shadow side, putting the subject between main source of light and the camera" are amazing. As someone who has been an editor all my life, I do have a lot of curiosity and am experimenting with cinematography lately just for fun, those little gems of knowledge are super nutritious. If you ever read this, maybe the next question would give you an idea for content: What has been something you learnt in your career that has changed the game for you? (one of those "huh!" moments that change the way you perceive the work)

Ah man keep at it!! Best advice is to stay off your phone during those times
The fact that you took the time to re-foley the scene just goes to show how much you love making films. Super cool work Danny.
Haha I love folley
why do you make everything so effortless i love it
Hahah just trying to keep it simple these days

I've always noticed that putting the camera down on the ground is so cool hahahah

You are just the master of this craft. Awesome. Thank you for teaching us this.
I can't wait to watch this after work!
Haha have a good day at work!
Watching this made me excited to pick up my camera! Thanks Danny!
No, this is the greatest video in the world. Thanks again for keep the videos rolling while also tackling a full length film.
Haha thanks man!

Man this was just…. More please 🙏
Your color correction on the grocery store shot is magnificent.
Watching Danny's videos is like free film school with that one cool professor. And new phrase of the week "evacuate my bowels" 😂
Hahaha

Thank you for the content ! Literally anytime I watch anything created by you it inspires me to go out and shoot so thank you !
Amazing to hear thank you!
Yes to more Danny in our lives again. Great to see you in here often, bro.
Haha thank you man
Waiting on that movie trailer!!!
You are a cinematic wizard! Thanks for sharing how you got your shots! I really aspire to edit and color grade like you!

Man I really hope you do a grading break video that outlines what you’ve learned in resolve, including the hellation and grain overlays. 🙏
Like there’s any doubt we’ll love the trailer! Appreciate this breakdown man. Makes film making seem so much more doable when you provide these.
Haha thanks brotha
Thank you for this breakdown. I've never subscribed so fast.
Love from Italy!
Thank you!!
Thanks for this man, really golden insights that you were able to share!
the dry humping! love it lol
"we're married regardless" best quote from a hilarious sequence!
