Out of all of Mary Kate and Ashley's movies this was the best one they ever did.
I thought they did great in How the West Was Fun and Double Double Toil in Trouble as well but yeah, this film was absolutely one of their best.

I just saw a Buzzfeed article that recommended this movie. Always thought I had loved a Mary Kate and Ashley movie where sloppy joes were involved, but just assumed I'd made that part up and the movie was actually The Parent Trap (w Lindsay Lohan). So happy to have re-discovered this movie!!

To settle the arguments, the original story is Das Doppelte Lotchenn by Erich Kaestner, better known in English as Lisa and Lottie. Lisa and Lottie was adapted in the '60's as The Parent Trap. It was later also used as inspiration for the 1995 movie It Takes Two. Then The Parent Trap was remade in 1998, and borrowed a few ideas from It Takes Two. Neither The Parent Trap or It Takes Two are rip-offs of each other. The Parent Trap is an adaptation of the book, while It Takes Two is inspired by the same book, but goes in a different direction with it. I like all the versions, the book and all three movie adaptations. They are fun movies. Now can we stop arguing?

There's a remake of The Parent Trap from 1998, which is the one more people are familiar with, but the story existed long before It Takes Two. Also, the original book was from the 50's, and the storyline of The Parent Trap is closer to the book than It Takes Two is. I like all the movie versions though.

@@popap1995 It's actually been awhile since I watched the movies, but I do remember a few little things being pretty similar, and not just because they were based on the same book either (though I guess it could just be a coincidence). I'd have to watch the movies again to pinpoint what exactly those things were.

Harmless fun and predictable but still a childhood favorite.

It is always a bad parenting choice getting engaged before your child has even met the person your engaged to (Not counting under the age 1 and over the age of 18). It makes it seems you are choosing them over your child, especially their feelings. You do not know how this person will be as a parent and how they will get along with your child.

When Alyssa was taken away to the Butkisses, that's probably her first time every in a non luxury car and/or limo, and also her first time probably in a poor person's house, even though the camp where she'd stayed during this time posing as Amanda, was way different than her bed back at the mansion.
