This video was definitely up there with some of your best. Even though this mall has been covered substantially by others, you always seem to find something new or unique that I haven't seen before at these places. The neon nightshots were especially awesome. Can't wait to see where you go next Rick!
I live around 15-20 minutes from this mall, and it was always one of my favorite places to go. It was unfortunate to see it decline as it did over the years. Especially over the 2010’s, in which as the years went on the emptier it got. Many, myself included believe the seeds were already planted in 2013 when Mason Asset Management bought the mall. Instead of improving it, they literally drove it to the ground.
If I’m not mistaken at around the 11:30 mark the Cafe Europa you’re in was in a Dan Bell video from years ago. This was when the mall was still open and the cafe had a bunch of creepy sculptures around the kitchen facade.
Cool! I'm wearing my slap bracelet, hot pink leg warmers, and neon green jelly shoes. My hair is big and I am listening to my Walkman. I won't forget my scratch-and-sniff stickers. Totally awesome!!
@@jeee1074 I actually searched after I watched this video, Gadzooks closed all stores in March of 2005 and that is the neon lights they had. My mind is blown. 2005
So glad we stumbled on this video, my partner is from the area and was so sad about its closing. Now, as time of writing, the mall is nothing but rubble so to find this video after its demolition, and to get a glimpse of my partner’s childhood mall, was so neat. Thanks for the video ❤
Very cool mall my guy. I love all the old neon lighting. I wish I could have the neon lights for my new mansion. The Christmas 🎄 house you saw set up was built by exploring with Josh and his friends. Take care Ranger Rick TV 📺.
That closed off door near the shoe store (which I believe was a Payless shoes) was one of the anchors. My guess is that is where the Sears was. I grew up going to this mall. It's so sad what it's become.
Having been in the mall when it was open, I can confirm you are correct. The Sears was there from the mall’s opening in 1989 until the store closed in early 2018. And you may or not know this by now, but they are now officially demolishing the entire mall. A huge section by that former Sears is gone.
@@RYMAN1321 Yeah I knew about the demolition, I honestly thought it had already happened. I figured that particular anchor would have been the Sears since I heard part of the Sears roof collapsed, so it made sense for that one to be blocked off like it was. Last time I was in that mall was probably 2008, and even then it was pretty empty. It took awhile for it to completely close, but I'm still sad about it.
It’s actually now in the process of being demolished. A huge chunk of the mall down by the former Sears is gone. There’s piles of cinderblock and scrap metal on the ground and all. I even have a few videos on my channel of it, and a few other users do too.
Sad how it turned dead after a sad ending. Now it’s time for mall to fall. As I can remember there was a Dream Street for a Radio Disney concert at one time I can remember as a middle school kid.
Does anyone know what number door is open to get into the mall? I went there yesterday, and they were 2 security patrol cars in the front/back until late. I enjoyed this video
@@RangerRickTV Thanks buddy. I guess thats why the security guard was sitting right in front. The other was in the back. every 20-25 minutes, he goes around for few and comes back. Again thank you

A bunch of these videos all go on about Bonton and say it's "one of the usual anchors" I think that's a regional chain in the Northeast and Northern Midwest cause I've literally NEVER seen a Bonton's anywhere South of Illinois.
@@RangerRickTV Figured as much. Cause I'd seen some when I was up in Illinois but I've mostly lived in the South and never seen a one till I went North of Kentucky.

Exactly what I thought. They didn't quite make it once they got rid of their skater kids and men's departments.

How the hell are those lights still on from 2005?
The Gadzooks became a Spencer’s and then that closed in 2015.
