My uncle, Tom Kiiskila, of Orofino worked on these drives and was featured in a couple of great photographs by Ross Hall in his article “Idaho Loggers Battle a River” in the July 1951 National Geographic.

I now live a few miles from the Clearwater River. This video was good to see how the now calm river was previously used.
