At one time neighbors use to chat with each other over the fences having cook outs , parties kids growing up ,1st dates graduations , Christmas time ? Some ones memories.
I have a good imagination but it's hard for me to even picture that these were someone's homes at one time.Someones pride and joy.Birthdays,Christmases bringing home new babies, milestones .
The crisis of empty housing in Baltimore city could be combated if there was a city wide effort to bring together realty companies, realty financiers, credit repairers, and builders to teach and show the benefits of home ownership citywide and push the programs until most empty homes are occupied
I'm from Australia and it's crazy to see so many abandoned buildings in America especially the malls, things never stay abandoned or closed for too long here. Love the vids !
Hey dan, IDK if youll ever see this comment but i will say this You have guts of steel roaming in certain hoods of baltimore cause thats where im from myself & everyday you had to be on alert or even keep lookin over your shoulder also cause you dont know when it will be your time to fight for your LIFE or worse, go 6ft into the ground. Its nothing but an open fuckin war zone!! Welp be kool & be safe out there.
thanks Dan for another great video I grew up in Dundalk and the city was pretty sad back in the 80s now it's beyond depressing keep 'em coming and watch yourself
You guys .....plz be careful. Thank you for showing things that have happened and are continuing to happen in this country of ours....it guts to do and go some of the places you do...very dangerous...but thank you for the videos. I do not think anyone compares to you guys....
Matt Perrin Try living there. I have been lucky enough to get out of there. Many arent given that chance. It is a place of forgotten souls, crime and saddness. There is beauty sprinkled in though. In the hearts of the families that are just trying to make it out so their kids can have better, like I did. Its worth saving, its just that people only get to see the bad. It makes me sad to see it since I have been away for a bit.
Sonnenschein my building was so bad, many murders, suicides, gangs, you name it. but there was beauty in the people too. we all cared and love each other. I miss many of my old neighbor's there. many of them have now passed on.
one of the reasons why we left Cincinnati to Texas neighborhoods started to rot like this needles and used condoms up and down the alleys have to watch were your walking
Dan do you think you could do a video like this but with narration telling us the history of how it came to be so abandoned? It seems like theres a LOT of this stuff in Baltimore, I would love to hear about it 🤔
I can definitely tell you a lot about it. It's a very filthy dangerous place and has been since around the 70s. I live about 45 mins away but i was in rehab down there for 7 mos. Lol that rehab was a joke for sure. They got it right when they say bodymore
@@02DodgeIntrepidRT Since the 70's because that's when the drugs started booming. Instead of getting jobs or was quicker and easier to sell drugs which lead to all the gang wars and violence.
Reganomics did most of it. That is what forced Bethlehem steel to close. US Steel and so many industrial jobs got forced out so Reagan could pretend our economy was strong. Republicans almost never create policy fo X working class people especially if they are black. Dayton ohio and detroit look just like Baltimore .
@@02DodgeIntrepidRT well in the 50s it was thriving and not dangerous. We had industry and jobs then. Republicans forced all that out and to china now we are suffering. Detroit....dayton so many other citys
I paused a Nostalgia Critic panel to watch this lol shit gets serious when I pause one of my favorite TH-camrs lol. Dan and Will be careful please and great video as usual sir.
Sad but this is indictitive to what is happening all over the country....slums like this don't exist in Europe....but they'll be more common here after the next 4 years....God help us all.
Unbelievable! And stuff was falling down just while you stood there filming! The shot of the red door hanging crooked against the bricks would make a great print! Also, that fancy red wallpaper at the end!
I don't know much about Baltimore, but it looks like the kind of place where you'd find sketchy things such as needles, used condoms, etc. The place needs cleaning up....desperately.
A mirror image of Cincinnati,Ohio's Over the Rhine neighborhood. With the Rowhouses blown out.Glad you entered NONE of them.Reminds me of another explorers statement I heard him say yesterday,I hate doorways you just never know WHAT is beyond that door.😨
Another great vid Dan, keep em up! I research layouts of cities and levels of poverty in certain areas using GoogleEarth and have found some crazy abandoned areas in Baltimore if you were ever looking for suggestions. I screenshot every location with exact address. Thank you for showing this side of Baltimore, it is so forgotten and more people need to be aware and care. Hopefully one day it will thriving again.
There are houses on Rt. 40, not the rich Howard County side, where the front of the houses look normal and the enitre back side is gone. City has nice new traffic cameras there to catch people running redlights though. Got a nice fat ticket once cuz there was no way in hell I was stopping. lol
Whew,😨you two and Urbex Dane exploring big time hard core ghetto. The worst it appears Baltimore has to offer another Camden,NJ or East side CLE,Ohio areas. You guys sure have balls, the sort of Urban Carnage the rest of us go out of our way to avoid.🚫I readily admit watching these vids makes for a nail biting view of the worst America has to see.But unlike me,you guys are actually there exposed to the tons of potential dangers that lurk there.Gangs,Tweeks, thieves and anyone or anything NOT normal had long ago bailed, like myself way out of town. Thanks for the look👀into the old neighborhood 👍But use great caution when you guys dare go there⚠Do appreciate having you guys around.Nice, but scary work.👌
I love the shot of the wallpaper at the end. Have you stopped doing Check Out TIme, or are you just taking a while with them? I was waiting for #7 when you released Dirty Room #8 and now I'm wondering if it's just not a thing anymore.
Loving all these uploads 💗 what an eye sore that is and health hazard, needs taken down asap. I'm glad you couldn't get in I'd be worried for you both for needles jabbing you. Question: what's the scariest thing to ever happen to you ? Was it the one where you found a bag of drugs? X
NO! Bad TH-camr! Stay away from those buildings in that town. I still get a little freaked out for you after watching that one with you stuck in that bathroom.
I just feel sick and disheartened looking at this video. I'm willing to bet that some of the properties I've seen recently used to be occupied during the 1960s when my parents and I used to visit my father's relatives over in Baltimore. The wallpaper in that one ruin looks like paper from the Victorian era; I wonder what the building looked like in its "glory days." What is so saddening is that a city steeped in history (and with what must have been some beautiful brownstones) seems to be almost entirely destroyed - in other words, there are probably few of the original buildings left. How come there wasn't a move to "gentrify" some of the older areas (as there was in Washington, D.C. or in St. Louis, Missouri?) Some of those areas have been reclaimed. The most tragic case of deterioration was that building in which the rooms were all turquoise, and as I recall, some of the rooms were octagonal? That building could have been a showpiece - but sadly, it will be obliterated someday either by the wrecking ball, or more likely, by the further twin encroachments of vandalism and natural deterioration. Such a shame, and such a waste...
wow there are so many abandoned buildings. I know every city has areas like this but it seems like Baltimore has more than average. I live in Valdosta Ga and there are def buildings falling done but most of them get demolished with in the year unless its a house. Those usually arent touched just boarded up.
Next time you go up to one of those old sketchy buildings instead of saying "hello" just say "Free Crack! Get your Free Crack Here!" and see how fast you get a response.
At one time neighbors use to chat with each other over the fences having cook outs , parties kids growing up ,1st dates graduations , Christmas time ? Some ones memories.
Filming and walking through this is a real roll of the dice. Talk about taking your chances.
Looks like a freaking war zone... imagine all the people who've lived there and the years of memories.
I'm from Baltimore I moved to the Eastern shore back in 95 it's sad to see what this City has become many parts of the city are like this .
"I'm, like, standining in your pee."
- Dan Bell, 2017
Some people pay for that sort of thing
I have a good imagination but it's hard for me to even picture that these were someone's homes at one time.Someones pride and joy.Birthdays,Christmases bringing home new babies, milestones .

Sad, imagine how beautiful that area was, look at all that detail on the houses!
hahaha "Pockets of Hell" 😂
Dan Bell, your titles are on point.
thanks Dan for another great video I grew up in Dundalk and the city was pretty sad back in the 80s now it's beyond depressing keep 'em coming and watch yourself
I love that you're doing more Baltimore videos, there is a lifetime of content in that city alone!
A video from Dan Bell is the highlight of my day.
You guys .....plz be careful. Thank you for showing things that have happened and are continuing to happen in this country of ours....it guts to do and go some of the places you do...very dangerous...but thank you for the videos. I do not think anyone compares to you guys....
That's like a warzone, quite a sorry sight.

Sonnenschein hugs, I went through the same, trying to leave downtown Denver for many years, living in a hell hole building. I totally understand.
Sonnenschein my building was so bad, many murders, suicides, gangs, you name it. but there was beauty in the people too. we all cared and love each other. I miss many of my old neighbor's there. many of them have now passed on.
it's a real shame when you see an area that was obviously once doing well drop so badly, there are areas like this in the UK also.
Matt Perrin Hi from the UK too bud there sure is abandoned places a massive warehouse where I am dead and gone maybe from the 90s
At 0:16 if this was your first Dan Bell video you’d be like “is this his drug dealer” also was he peeing there? Lmaoooo
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
God this makes me itch to clean something
I was watching a Metallica rockumentary from 1992 and stopped it for this. Keep them coming Dan and Will! Bring Rick with you on some of these. LOL
paul heaton fr tho
Paul, same year Metallica should have quit making records, no?
I actually liked S&M. Guess I'm getting old. lol
paul heaton, just looked that up. appears to be compilation of older tunes, that is why it is good
paul heaton Isn't Metallica's new album called Pockets of Hell!?! If it's not, it should be! :)
Hope you had some protection, that place is shady as hell.
Better watch out! Omar might be living in one of those vacants.
one of the reasons why we left Cincinnati to Texas neighborhoods started to rot like this needles and used condoms up and down the alleys have to watch were your walking

The last Republican to run this hell hole was 1967. You draw your own conclusions.
So sad. Baltimore, like many cities that have fallen this far in disrepair.. will probably never recover.
I love how these places all have different moods. Thank you for doing what you do
I paused a Nostalgia Critic panel to watch this lol shit gets serious when I pause one of my favorite TH-camrs lol. Dan and Will be careful please and great video as usual sir.

Love your stuff. Keep up the good work.
in my town they would put up condos in like 2 months any piece of property thats not being used BAM! new housing
I don't know much about Baltimore but man it looks like a dump
That's not hell. It's "Hamsterdam"!
S.B. Carlson 😞
these are my favorite videos. come back to frederick where you did the frederick towne mall there's tons of abandoned farm properties
Hey is the Fredneck Towne mall gone? I lived in Westminster MD.
nope still there and still abandoned
I don't know much about Baltimore, but it looks like the kind of place where you'd find sketchy things such as needles, used condoms, etc. The place needs cleaning up....desperately.
This scares me more than any horror movie.
Wow what a mess. Hopefully one day they'll demolish this mess. It's really sad a lot of big cities aren't taken care of. Thanks Dan.
You can bet your ass each one of those buildings has squatters. I wouldn't be poking my head in any of them.
It's crazy how fucked up Baltimore and Philadelphia have become.
My city tore down places like this in 2014
I guess everything in Baltimore is creepy and abandoned
Why wouldn't the city demolish the dangerous properties? Why let them sit for so long? Loved the video anyway, Dan. And loved that wallpaper! Hi Will
Diana Jemison places like Baltimore and Detroit are fucked they cut funding in certain areas and pushed it up north and towards tourists locations
Garry Lamb yes closing down schools and other activities for the community which is full of crime is leaving people to rot ....and die
Michael Sharp pretty much those are the two big points that need looked into
Chris Go yes they are
Diana Jemison simple- bc that costs money & the city will not spend a dime on it, anywhere here in us...
A mirror image of Cincinnati,Ohio's Over the Rhine neighborhood. With the Rowhouses blown out.Glad you entered NONE of them.Reminds me of another explorers statement I heard him say yesterday,I hate doorways you just never know WHAT is beyond that door.😨
looks like nice weather there...meanwhile whrre i am at we have 2ft of snow outside lol
4:30 am and watching dan you already know
Baltimore had a good rave scene in the 90's. I was a Pittsburgh kid. They had good dancers. 😊
+ksero1000 yes we did! I was at all of them.
Good old days for SURE!
It's abandoned due to the Row House fires it's on the other TH-cam Videos and they can't afford to rebuild so the buildings stay abandoned.
Now we need to rebuild the USA And Make America Great Again.
again a great Video!
Everyone is leaving the city
Great wallpaper prints of what once was a beautiful place!
As always Dan an amazing video thanks! ❤

"I'm like standing in your F-💣
pee" too funny
0:27 That's how you blog in the hood
What is that odd falling thing at around 4:02 ? Very weird
Looked kind of like maybe a cat jumping down
Well spotted -- I believe you are correct.
Show us where Marlo used to have Chris and Snoop dump the bodies.
Ameretsu Shidori you're looking at it fool
never thought I was a coward until I thought about going in these buildings myself 😂😂
Hey Dan , i reckon " Baltimore Tourism " would be Crazy not to hire you guys! . You & Will are fun guys , i like your work .
When people keep voting for a specific political party, this stuff will only continue.
Omar is coming! Omar is coming!!
Omar Gosh?

Such a shame.
wondering what happened in that city. a video overview as to why there are so many dead buildings would be v interesting
I love the shot of the wallpaper at the end.
Have you stopped doing Check Out TIme, or are you just taking a while with them? I was waiting for #7 when you released Dirty Room #8 and now I'm wondering if it's just not a thing anymore.
Rhonda Martorelli I scrolled down to the comments to see if someone posted about that wallpaper lol. It was really pretty!
Rhonda Martorelli they're both being posted next week, he said on his twitter
should tour some of the huge abandoned factories along Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia next time you're there.
Love watching your films. Just sad there is so much waste and destruction and destitution. Not just Maryland.
Welcome to Bawlmer, hon!
How sad !!!! Is ALOT of Baltimore rotting away ???
Marie York Not as much as it seems but yeah there are large swaths of land where a Holy Hell, this is depressing! is in order.
That looks like a scene from The Wire!
Juicy Smooliet was there 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks Dan
I only know Baltimore from cop shows and in my imagination the whole city looks like this
Loving all these uploads 💗 what an eye sore that is and health hazard, needs taken down asap. I'm glad you couldn't get in I'd be worried for you both for needles jabbing you. Question: what's the scariest thing to ever happen to you ? Was it the one where you found a bag of drugs? X
Disgusting...what an eyesore! Needs urban renewal ASAP!
Dead bodies, half-dead bodies, zombies. Anything possible in those buildings.
NO! Bad TH-camr! Stay away from those buildings in that town. I still get a little freaked out for you after watching that one with you stuck in that bathroom.

So sad
That was creepy as hell!
OMG @4.48 flocked wall paper..we had something like that on our dinning room walls..damn...
you guys find all the cool spots.
great job dan
This is just like north Philly.
I've been to North Philadelphia Kensington it's way more fucked up
I wonder where all the people & families are that used to live in those homes.
Does anyone know the name of these neighborhoods
I just feel sick and disheartened looking at this video. This looks like part of Ohio where I live this is sad
I'm from the UK, is there any reason why Baltimore has sooo many abandoned buildings and stuff?? :)x
Molly whole place is a shithole. prolly worst city in USA
Anthony Rupe it's not the worst. You just have to know where to go.
Anthony Rupe true it's even worse than Chester pa - I didn't think that was possible, until I went there in person.
Detroit though
Leftist government and 3rd world people. Also known as the unspeakable reality.
I would love to visit Baltimore and Maryland. Set of my all time favourite tv show. "Omar's coming yo!"
Some people sure can ruin everything in sight..
I'd love to hide in a place your going and when you ask hello I can come out and say "Well hello come on it!!" 🤗
looks like Hell on earth

I'm new, who is the guy with Dan?
Next time you go up to one of those old sketchy buildings instead of saying "hello" just say "Free Crack! Get your Free Crack Here!" and see how fast you get a response.
