Seeing Guus brought back lovely memories of our Welsh Terrier Ted who tragically died last month at the age of two leaving us devastated to lose him at such a young age
After retiring out of the army I wanted to own 2 Welsh terriers. But I find it is very hard trying to purchase them. When I find a breeder they state they have no more. I came to realize that this breed is in high demand! I fell in love with this breed back in the 70's at a dog show. I am glad that people are supporting this breed.
A good breeder of Welsh Terriers will not sell to anyone. You must have a fenced in backyard which I had to do to get mine. Winston was hands down the very best dog ever! They are smart, stubborn, hilarious and devoted. I loved mine but lost him in July 2018. He would have been 15 in October. I still shed a tear for him as he was great company for me!!! Good look in finding one. They are worth every penny!

That has got to be the best first year of a dogs life I’ve seen. The fact that Gus is a welsh terrier helps too. I have a Patterdale cross and he, although is fit, is around 11 or 12 so I’m looking at my options as when the dreadful day comes, after a short break I will need another companion. I’m looking and doing my homework already as I don’t want to make a mistake, dogs are for life. I’ve looked at Lakeland’s initially but have just had these beauty’s pointed out and their lovely. Thanks for the insight.

Nice Welsh terrier. Mine is about 1 1/2 years old, he's a feisty little dog and looks about the twin to your's, except my dogs tail is docked shorter. My dog likes to start fights with my fathers Irish Terrier.

can you recommend them over other dogs?how much do you recommend these dogs as pets? my wife has been bitten alot as a teenager by dogs but she thinks these look docile enough..
WonGeun Kim do you want a dog for beginners? If your wife is scared of dogs I think you are better of with a Golden retriever, or a collie (shorthaired if you don't like the grooming) a more gentle dog. If you really aren't sure you could also do a test
My puppy, Aisha ( Welsh Terrier ) bites. But not because she has to, she only plays with me. It hurts, but just a little bit. If you like playful puppies ( it depends on the personality a bit ) then Welsh Terrier is the right one. If you want a dog that likes kids, then Welsh Terrier is the right one. But you need to spend like a lot with them, or else they will feel lonely or bored. But that's okay, I think. But if you want them as a hunter doggo, then be a little stricter to them, because they will be more succesful in hunting. Don't worry, being strict at them doesn't mean they will be unhappy, they like training. Also a lot of books say, that Welsh Terriers are a VERY smart dogs ( Not Saying Others Aren't )! And, I think that it says truth. Or puppy Aisha is like very smart and I learned her to lay in 4 days! Welp, I hope I wasn't bragging too much xD I learned it that, when she was 9 weeks old, I always said ľahni ( Yes, I am slovak and that means Lay ) and pushed her down to the ground and gave her a treat ( even though I did it, not her ) and I did it few more times, and then she knew it ;-). Remember, not all Welshes Bite, mine just wants to play. Okay, so I recommend you a Welshie, bye!

Welsh terriers are the best. I’m a huge fan. My dog Sandy lived to be 15 years old. I still miss her after 23 years.

My best buddy passed away on 5-21-22 My heart is broken. I will miss him forever. He lived 13 years and 1.5 months.
