Thank you so much for your video. My daughter was super bummed when she got her housing assignment and didn’t get in the Hive but your video helped her feel so much better and your organization was genius.
Hey man, thank you so much for making this video. I was super nervous about the lack of info I had about turner house and now I feel so much more relaxed and prepared
Thank you for this video. My daughter is going to SCAD, and as a parent, I just wanted logistics, and you provided that very succinctly. Best of luck for the future.
TF541Productions No to both. Pretty certain the rooms don’t have outlets for ethernet even. All technology has to be connected to the general scad WiFi that uses your myscad login and passcode.
@@lucasgonzalez6346 awesome! i'm currently looking at scad for architecture specifically, as a matter of fact. i heard the foundation year for architecture is different from the other majors? would you mind telling me if it's true and if so how is it different? thanks, and again really nice room setup. the desks all facing each other is a really good idea
em arre This is an amazing question, and my architecture friends and I just finished talking ab it. Scad is one out of not thank many schools that have an accelerated program called IPAL. Which stands for integrated path to architectural licensure. This is very important and separates you from any other architecture student. This is a lot of info so I wouldn’t worry ab that until you decide to come, but architecture students start their major classes right away. By your second semester you should be taking Draw 115 which is a class for drafting. This is very different from other major classes since it’s a 5 1/2 hour studio class. Only 2 majors take these 5 1/2 hour classes and architecture takes quite a few of them. Your first semester is the same as everyone else but your first year experience is paired with architecture and interior design students. By the end of your first semester you will have learned about IPAL, how many hours you should be interning every summer, and what classes you should be taking for the next semester. This is a lot of info but if you do come be prepared to WORK. Architecture is the hardest major at scad bu the good thing is that you get to brag about it and you do feel superior from other majors lol. I honestly love it here and it’s an amazing school for architecture. They prepare you more than any school I’ve visited. Hope this helps and really sorry it’s so long. If you’ve got any more questions just lmk. 👍🏼
@@lucasgonzalez6346 thank you SO much, I haven't been able to find any of that info on the website. I'm currently debating between architecture at a regular university vs an art school like SCAD, but from what you've said it sounds like SCAD is worth it. Do you find it too big of a school or are the arch/ interior design programs like a bit more intimately connected? do architecture and interior design students mainly kind of stick together? again thanks a ton
em arre If you are in the architecture program to get your license faster like many of us are, then interior design never really integrates w architecture. You should take a tour of the school and checkout the architecture building. If you wanna check it out now it’s called Eichberg Hall and it’s the nicest thing you’ve ever seen if you’re into concept art and models. All that architecture stuff.
All freshman living on campus will be located at The Hive or Turner House. If you get assigned to The Hive, and you have contacted the Counseling and Accommodations office, then you can submit an application to have a single bedroom there, but for that you need approval from your Therapist and the Counseling and Accommodations office after going through that process.

Great video! Helped me a lot! My daughter was sad at first because she got Turner but I think your video will help.
Very glad this video could help!
So organized!!!!!!!! Love it 😍
How much space is under the beds (width, height, depth)?
I plan to go to SCAD and came here to see the dorms
Do rooms come with an ethernet port, or will I have to buy a wifi adapter for my desktop?

Is there anywhere to put a tv in this room ?
This is organized in a really smart way. What major are you?
