  • For anyone looking to learn the speed bag I’m telling you I wish like hell I would have found a video like this.
I personally need my lessons slow and in chewable bites. Sometimes the videos I watch trying to learn even when slowed down are still so fast I’m left scratching my head. Lol
I’ve learned a lot of stuff about the speed bag on Instagram, TH-cam, and Speedbagcentral.com and thought I would start putting together a group of videos breaking down the bag the best I can in ways that make since you me. And that’s the biggest thing, you gotta find videos that make sense to you.
I’m still pretty new at this, one week shy of a year as I type this. I can’t tell you how much it has helped me stay as normal as I could during all this mess lately.
This may help some of y’all that are struggling with the triple beat to get your hands to know that magic spot.
Slow it down and take you time. Clean form is absolutely everything about advancing your skills rapidly.
The front roll is just step 1 into a world of AWESOMENESS!! Can’t wait to see you in the next video!! BUMPING!!
If you’re interested in anEvo14 swivel or Jim Bradley Speed bag head over to my website www.thethrashe...
And if you have any questions feel free to email me at thethrasherhouse@gmail.com

Are u fist packing a lighter. If so does that help with how your hand connects

Lol you know, after bagging for a while my hands started to hurt especially once it started getting cold so I would hold lighters in my hands to help fill the void in my hands and it would help give my fist a little bit more cushion when the ball hit my hands. It seemed to help a lot so I wound up making some hand grips for speed bagging. Saved my hands a lot of pain. I stopped using them after I started using the Jim Bradley Pro ball. So much softer on my hands than pretty much every other bag I used. Every now and then I still use them if I’ve been doing a lot of bagging while it’s cold. Lol the dangers of getting old.

I love your teaching style but I am very offended that you are speed bag shaming by calling the bag "fat". I identify as a speed bag so it hurts.

Ha!! Thanks, I approached teaching the speed bag in a very different way than anyone else I have watched. Guess I could have used more of a mathematical term instead of calling it the fat part of the bag which is the most common way you’ll here it described amongst speed baggers I could have said “hit the bag at the greatest circumference”.

Hey, what are you holding in your hands in the video? Are they weights, or just something to hold on to?

Thanks for these tutorials. I just installed my new Evo 14. I’m a beginner and thought I was reasonably good after a few months of practice using a Balaz swivel. Your swivel proved me wrong. Back to basics. Thanks for providing the basics. I’ll be, I hope, a better speed bagger for it. Pray tell what are you gripping while hitting the bag?

Thank you so much reaching out!! I just sent you an email with the info on my hand grips. Let me know if you ever want to bag together sometime via video chat. It’s a lot of fun bagging with others!

Great video. I started off trying to learn with the three count rhythm and felt super awkward and frustrated starting off. Gave this a try and at least felt like it was something I was able to get show some progress with and begin working up in my speed and rhythm. Looking forward to progressing through your series.

I can promise you, work the steps, stay smooth and super clean and by video #10 you’ll be drumming. Thank you so much for not only giving it a try but also leaving some feed back. That’s how we all grow together as a community and a family.

Really helpful! Gonna continue this slow controlled work. Incorporating fanning starting today. Was not aware of that before. Struggling keeping it so slow afer years of fast/fard trip beat, but trying to make bible bagging happen.

Hi, Jeff, I am doing all your speed bag tips and tutorials and I am getting it pretty good. Practicing now with elbows. You are a great teacher and motivator.

Hi Gregory, thank you so much for your feed back. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that these videos have helped new baggers get going. I was a new Bagger myself just a year and a half ago. It’s literally changed my life. Once you find your flow and start mixing bagging with music and learn to stay in time it takes it to another level!! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out. We can video messages if you’re having any difficulties. That’s the fastest way to get good fast. 903-738-1312.
