true crounching and crawl made it into my modlist this week, I'll NEVER play without them again Also advanced trajectory makes the gunplay so much more fun (and stupid easy by default, but tweaking the values to make it much harder and/or making the number of zombies waaay higher does the trick) with britas new weapons and gazilion attachments, the "inspect weapon"mod is AWESOME to manage your new attachments PS: advanced trajectory overwrites britas stuff, but the "advanced trajectory realistic overall" makes it way harder and I THINK it also makes the attachments work again
Excellent video and showcase! I 100% agree on all but 3, which shows it's a pretty good mod list. That's the issue with, as well as the benefit, of mods. They're very subjective and prone to personal taste lol 1. Combat text 2. Minimal Display bars 3. Brita's Gun Pack For Combat Text and Minimal display bars, they're a personal preference. For me, they're just a bit too immersion breaking. I'm just not a fan of seeing a sea of health bars in a game about simulating realism. For seeing how my character is doing in a more immersive way, I much prefer the combo of "Monkey's out of breath moodle" and "Plain Moodles". These combine to show you what threshold you are at with more info for the traditional moodles and give a warning to when you're about to be exhausted. But again, personal preference. :) For Brita's, I always enjoy the Armor pack, simply because "Drip or Die". However, the guns and how they interact with the vanilla loot tables make it feel more like a shooting gallery than a struggle for survival, for me, personally. For a more "balanced" gun add-on, I've been really enjoying "Firearms B41". It adds some much needed weapon variety to the loot table, but doesn't feel too OP (no miniguns or RPGs lol). But if "Brita's Weapon Pack" makes it more fun for you, more power to ya! There's no "one way" to enjoy Zomboid. That's the beauty of sandbox games! Lastly, in the spirit of continuing to provide the suggestions you asked for, I would recommend checking out "Simple Lockpicking". I think it adds a logical mechanic to the game that finally gives you another use for the humble paperclip! Hope all the best for ya and keep up the great work, friend!
Brita's imho is more for the sake of players who want to RP as specific kinds of Characters, run a more gun heavy challenge (High zed pop, anything but guns and ammo are set to Comically insane rare rates.... Succeptible trait, Horde survival instead of Vanilla PZ survival...). Or want it for some aesthetic sense for base building (Weapons room, making their own take of H&K's Gray room...). Brita weapons to me is that kind of thing where its the niche uses of it that make it an interesting use case. Player lots of runs where i used Brita's armor pack, some Costume specific mods, cosplay of anime chars.... All which needed Brita's weapon to be possible (One Char RP i literally Needed a HK416 with the packs attachments to get the gun to fit the aesthetic)
The main appeal of Minimal Display Bars for me is the calorie bar, I wish there was a mod where you could see your calories or others' if you had nutrisionist or high level in cooking. I do agree tho that the health, stamina, exhaustion and tiredness bar are a bit op as you can just avoid fights if your tiredness bar is high enough instead of getting tired while fighting. Some other mods I would add to the list are "Water Dispensers", which allows you to take the water canister out of the dispenser instead of always carrying the entire dispenser, "Pumps have propane" to make metalworking viable, as it allows you to refuel propane tanks at gas pumps, and "Expanded Hotwire" which lets you craft car keys and unhotwire cars. They are simple mods that really should be in the vanilla game. Edit: nvm i made a mod to show the player's calories, it's called "know your calories!" if anyone is interested

These include: -A mod must enhance the game's Quality of Life overall without compromising the core of Project Zomboid. -A mod must be balanced in terms of the current set difficulty. If the mod makes the game too easy or too hard, it must be countered to keep that balance with another mod. -A mod must be time and location appropriate. If the content is beyond 1993 and doesn't belong in Kentucky, I will not install it regardless of quality. Usually it translates into a very fine list that keeps my attention, plus it maintains and enhances the Project Zomboid spirit!

It's really a matter of balancing the mods with vanilla. Adding everything on a single run might feel over the top. I added some QoL mods first, then gradually implemented some other ones after that.

I'm just like you where I have probably about 1000 hours in completely vanilla PZ and a few hundred in modded. One I finally installed last night and I'm OBSESSED with is Better Helicopter Events. (More Helicopter Events? I can't remember the exact name.) The first time a helicopter flew past and dropped a crate with flares and flyers with full graphics was SO RAD. Also yeah, Common Sense is mandatory.
You have to manage the mods in the game anyway, so you might as well add them one by one in the workshop. Also be aware that some mods are not compatible with each other, so be sure to read about it before setting it up.
More then likely every mod needs somthing that you're missing that needs to be downloaded from steam, if you check the mods by going into the mods section in project zomboids, anything red will mean that it's missing somthing and will tell you what to download
If a zombie is on the ground and within range your character will automatically aim lower. You can also use the control key to do so. Lemme check and see if there's a way to turn it off.
for proper work of brita's weapon u need to install "Arsenal[26] GunFighter Mod [2.0]" and "Mod Options (Build 41)", when u installing brita's it should say that u need both of these mods aswell

I like the sense of realism.. being stuck inside a building for a week with nothing but a few books would make me p bored/sad , being out in the county with no zombies within earshot I could get bored
One thing that made me stop playing PZ was the fact I couldn't find balance between easy or ultra playable hard difficulty, I love to play extreme difficulty games, but everytime I tried to increase zombie spawn rate, quantity, I was instantly forced to play somewhere really remote and take a biiig while before becoming ready to get swarmed by a bunch of delicious zombies finally starting my adventure. Does anyone know a cool hard as hell playable (you guys can also recommend a mod pack aswell) game setup? Thanks in advance
I feel your pain as someone who likes the ultra hard settings only and has been forced to tune them. This is what works for me, Louisville only spawns, sprinters, tough, blood+saliva infection, and the airpox mod so my guy needs to wear a mask. If you need to balance any of those hard settings out to make the game easier I have a mod that lets me set starting items by profession, I use health bars, a mod where bombs occasionally spawn in loot tables, and a mod to get more perks. I'm sorry I don't really have a list for you. I had to make my own mode called "cityboid" where the goal is to last 30 days in Louisville. 7 is my record so far (I cannot sit in a house and read books, this is why I die)

Yea When you join a server you'll see a list of all the mods installed If you're playing on Steam you'll get a button at the bottom to install all of them at once

the only issue with this list in my opinion is Brita's weapon pack, this mod makes the game feel like call of duty and removes a lot of the difficulty and survival aspects. What is the point in having melee weapon durability if you can just find a fucking minigun and clear louisville with it in a minute
Try to switch off all other mods, and start a new game, see if that helps. When you load a savegame, check the list of mods to see which are active, and if they are in red, it lets you see what you are missing (like damnlib for most F15 car mods)

To be honest with you, Project zomboid is super easy to modify. go to programs x86/steam/steamapps/common/project zomboid/media/music on your hard drive and replace all the songs with copies of whatever music you like. Just be sure to rename the copies of your music to the exact name of the song you're replacing in the folder.
damn shame the game has no point. Its been collecting dust in my library for years. You can mod it to the moon.. there's still no beginning, middle or end.. nothing to look forward too or try to accomplish.

One of my favorite mods to add to 10 years later is the decade later texture pack, changing basically every texture in the game to be old and run down
thus lowering your fps significantly

Why does my character aim at the floor when i shoot at zombies? I noticed you do that at the end as well? Is their a way to fix that?
If a zombie is on the ground and within range your character will automatically aim lower. You can also use the control key to do so. Lemme check and see if there's a way to turn it off.
Weapon Condition Indicator does not work on servers. I have a server I rent, and have this mod in the .ini, and it just doesn't work.
