- A Cereal Time fan sent me these two boxes of cereal from South Korean. One is a Chocolate Chex with Strawberry Puffs and the other is a mix of Chocolate and Banana Puffs. It's always fun to discover international cereals and see how they are marketed in other countries.

I come from korea and you have NO idea how much nostalgia you brought back into me
Especially with Dooly and the tie in to his cereal, Cocoball (which is like Cocoa Puffs like I have in America).
Dooly even has a Nintendo (famicom) game in South Korea. Also, Frosted Flakes w/ Banana is a brilliant idea.
Ooh, I didn't know that. That dinosaur is pretty popular, huh? I had no idea.
He's been around since the 80's.

We need way more chocolate plus fruit cereals in the US. Chocolate and strawberry and chocolate and banana both sound terrific.
Right?! It seems like an untapped potential market here in the US.

Thank you so much for introducing the Dooley cartoon! It's one of those things that not many of my peers know about. I was lucky that a set got handed down to me... they fell apart quickly, but I remember the parts I managed to read. The cartoon's a little old, but some of the humor was universal enough for me to pick up. It's such a national treasure and contributed tremendously to the growth of comic books in Korea. I hope that the creator will see this.

I once tried the Korean Froot Loops (called Fruit Rings) and the Korean Frosted Flakes. I not only had those two in the morning, but I also had them in the afternoon. Yeah... It's weird to have them in the afternoon, but that's how I mostly ate them.
Awesome Gabe! You're definitely the master of finding cereal commercials! I LOVE the back stories. =D We ate a box of the Choco and Banana balls, too and it WAS tasty! I really tried to get ya a box of the Post Honey O's cuz they were so deee-licious! But we could only find gigantic boxes at their equally gigantic Costco. =O I'll never forget that trip.♡ Thanks so much for today's video!

As much as I love chocolate, I really don't care for chocolate-flavored cereal. Count Chocula made me gag as a kid. Cocoa Puffs were... Bleeech!

If u watched the first commercial that he put and go to the girl that was in a strawberry costume and the Chex did some magic on her and turn her into the strawberry puffs and u don’t see her nowhere so she was sacrifice to make the cereal

Hey, I was wondering if you'd ever make a video about granola.It's quite a popular thing here in the UK, not sure what it's like in the US though. I know their aren't any major brands to exactly base the video off of, but could you talk about granola itself and its origins, and maybe go through different popular brands of it? I really like the way you talk about the history of cereals and how they came to be. It's really fascinating and it makes your channel really original and unique, and of course the taste tests! I'm keen to learn as I was born a while after cereal's 'golden age' in America.

You don’t know how many bags of cereals i had to stuff in my suitcases when i moved to Korea. Their cereal section is 1/4 the size of the cereal isles we have in America!!! Plus, cereal in SK is kind of pricey.

That Toucan Sam commercial with the rapping rhino was originally an American commercial with English voices, they just dubbed over it with Korean voices, lol.
Wouldn't doubt if it's a case of General Mills perhaps not having ownership of the Chex name outside the US or does business in Korea but I don't know that much (some of their cereals are distributed under the Nestle name in other countries like in Europe).

Thanks! I'm not sure if they have Cap'n Crunch over there, but I doubt it. It doesn't seem to make many appearances outside of North America. Shame because I think they'd love it.

I don’t think the Chex cereal or other General mills based cereals would have any issues with copyrighted names because the copyrighted names don’t actually translate to the same spelling in romanization (or English letters). Like with “Chex” the romanization of “첵스” would be (or close to this) “cheksu”.
Also the krave imitation just says “crunchy shell” 😂😂😂 . It’s not even a konglish word for “krave” like Chex and the coco puff cereal had. I love the way they translate American based cereals LMAO.

Here's a sample of the animated Dooly series from the late 80's. Ironically a My Little Pony clone shows up in the intro! I think the studio that made this series probably worked on that show for Hasbro previous!

When I eat cereal (while not filming videos) I use the proper amount of milk. I just don't like wasting it while filming videos in case I mess up or in case I don't end up eating the whole bowl.
