- The second of General Mills two new cereals is Fruity Lucky Charms. They did a Berry Lucky Charms back in 2006, but this version is much better. I wish they used an oat base for the cereal, but it's better than nothing.

WOW FOR THE FIRST TIME I FELT NOSTALGIA, IN THAT COMMERCIAL!!!! Im 21 years old, and recall seeing that commercial when I was much younger. Amazing feeling.

I like Lucky Charms more as I get older also (I am 35.) I think it has to do with my heightened appreciation of oats.
They really want to cheapen their prestigious brand with this corn crap? I guess they already did so when they reformulated chocolate charms... ugh.
Oh and Gabe... it's the money. Corn is much cheaper in the USA.
I think you're right about my appreciation for oats getting stronger as I get older.
And yeah, I know the corn subsidies are crazy in this country, just didn't think it would make that much a difference when you're already making original Lucky Charms. But I guess they pinch every penny.

Thanks for mentioning the difference between corn and oat-based cereals! Corn is WAY cheaper than oats, which is why cereal makers try to use it so much for newer cereals. (If you care, corn is cheaper because we grow so much of it in the United States to make ethanol for our cars). All the monster cereals were originally oat-based and the flavor was much better, especially Count Chocula! Also, Honeycomb cereal recently changed its formula from oat to corn-based, and the outcry was so great they had to change it back ASAP. Corn is okay for some cereals, but it is generally more crunchy and has a texture that's similar to Styrofoam.

Lucky Charms was my absolute favorite until my teens, when I still liked it and then more as a sporadic thing in my 20’s & mid 30’s. But at 40, all those childhood memories seemed to flood back and it’s in my current rotation again because damn, they’re just magically delicious!

Imagine a cereal that was chocolate, fruity, sugary AND had marshmallows! I can imagine a jingle for that:

Fruity Lucky Charms tastes like the Fruit Brute from the 1970's used to.
Way more so than the 2013 release of Fruit Brute did.
To get an even more accurate "Fruit Brute" taste, remove all of the white marshmallows.
You can leave the colored ones in the bowl.
Of all the fruity flavored cereals, FRUITY PEBBLES is a king that will never be dethroned!!

Cereal Time TV How about a Lucky Charms rivalry edition? Red berry Lucky Charms and Grape Lucky Charms, just like Baron Von Red Berry and Sir Grape Fellow. All the mar bits would be red in one box, and all mar bits would be purple in the other box.
Lucky charms 1985 86 was the best recipe never my favorite but i wouldn't be mad if my mom purchased it from tops or wegmans

I tried Fruity Lucky Charms and it was a decent cereal to be honest. At least it didn't have that repugnant citrus taste like Sour Patch Kids cereal. God, that cereal was terrible.

Gabe there are new cereal out because I went to Walmart today and picked up some CTC churros and there's new cereals out there's donnetes cereal by post sour pacth kids by post and they brought back Pop tarts cereal

But General Mills has GF cereals like Cheerios and original Lucky Charms and those are both oat based.
I got ya but being someone with Celiac's we tend to steer clear of anything with grains and oats corn is so much safer.. And I'm sure they are doing it for the texture too
Yeah, my niece has celiac and she steers clear of any of the GF General Mills cereals (even corn ones) because cross contamination with big facilities like that can happen. She’s had problems with “GF” Lucky Charms.
I actually think it has less to do with appealing to GF customers and more to do with the cost of corn (subsidized) vs oats.

I actually think I'm going to pass on that one since I've heard the flavor is just lame vanilla-ish and I don't play Overwatch so I don't really have anything to say about it.

I had no concept of TH-cam Premiere, and Gabe Premiered this video, and I missed the first few minutes of it. Plus, I had to reset the router because the internet on my computer went out late last night.
I think TH-cam Premiere is silly because the video played like it's a livestream and it had a live chat.
Otherwise, these Fruity Lucky Charms sound to be pretty delicious
You can still watch the entire video, it's posted on the channel just like normal videos. The Premiere just allows fans to chat with each other while watching the video on Saturday morning. It literally takes nothing away from someone's enjoyment of watching the video.
Awesome of you to recommend a fellow Tuber that covers some of the same topics. Gabe, have you ever thought of reaching out to these companies/cereal producers and spin your channel and its feedback as a sort of market research? 17K in followers isn't tiny in my book. The comments section alone could be marketing gold to them.
Sometimes General Mills or Cap’n Crunch reaches out to send me some cereals when they come out. So that’s about the best I can ask for. 👍🏽

It WAS released in December 2018. People were already buying it in stores before the New Year.

Good stuff! I thought the cereal pieces could have had a little more flavor. It's like a weakened Tricks. A lot of marshmellows though gotta like that.
Love Lucky Charms but it's a shame the oat cereals have been switched to corn. Tried the monster cereals this year- NEVER AGAIN!

The original Berry Berry Kix from the 90s? That stuff was AMAZING!
@@CerealTimeTV Yup, the ones with the berries over the litter "I". Maybe it was a bad batch or something, but that flavor did not vibe with me when I was young. I think I had 2 bowls and gave the rest to my brother.
