Mark. I've snapped tomato plants before, and buried the break if it was low down, and they grew fine, if the break was higher up, I taped them up and it worked too.
I completely forgot about it and its now been in the boot of the car for a week as I discovered this morning 😂 Oddly enough the plant still looks ok so might see if I can get it to root. Nothing like a challenge 👍🌱👍
put the tomato plant casualty in a glass of water- it will grow roots from the broken stem and then it will still crop rather than composting it. happy gardening 🙂
Mark, just chop the good top half of that tomato 🍅 and stick it in a vase of water, it will root again in a few days. I have done it before, it really works.
They also re root in water for future reference. Hopefully it comes back if you haven’t already binned it. My tomatoes are for the first time ever been eaten by slugs 🤬🤬. Good progress is being made 💪💪, have a great week, Ali 🌧️🌧️🌥️🇨🇦
Its been in the boot of the car for a week and strangely it still looks ok. Might have to take it out tomorrow and see if I can get it to root again. Nothing quite like a challenge 😂 Between the slugs at the allotment and the 5 I evicted from the greenhouse today I'm thinking about investing in an army of frogs 👍🌱👍
Hi Mark, I would still plant the snapped tomato plant. Great video on planting your tomato plants, I use halos too in my polytunnel too, they are grear, like the tip with the cardboard, will definitely try that next season. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
About to use halo pots for my greenhouse tomatoes for the first time next week, so this, and your older videos on using halo pots, were really useful, loads of helpful tips, thanks! 👍
Oh no! You didn't watch the older videos. I can only apologise 😂😂😂 I love using the halo pots in the polytunnel. Makes managing the watering so much easier. Trying out something new in the greenhouse in today's video on that front. Be interesting to see how the new gadget works out 👍🌱👍
I'd bury the snapped tomato up to the first leaves they root rapidly at this time of year I bet it'll hardly notice lol I taped a snapped pumpkin plant once and that carried on growing, all looking good there my tomatoes are a 3rd the size this year
Hi Mark. Another great video. If you fix a length of 3x2 timber to you door frame, the same as your cross bars then you can extend your support wires. great. I;ve done it and it works
