    Manual for the 453 non-turbo says 3.5L on change with filter. It took 4L for it to be just above the low mark for me and I figured I may not have been on perfectly level ground. So I stopped at 4L and heard others usually ended up with 4-4.5L. Wish they would just put in the damn Owner's Manual so everyone knew for sure.
    Wanna add too to make sure that the filter housing screws on right. Mine screwed on tight, had no leak, but I noticed it was not flush with the engine. Removed it, repopped the filter element into the hole, and it screwed on flush (you can tell cause it will start to make plastic creaking noises as you overtighten it). Must've gotten stuck on the o-ring or something prior.

    This is awesome, was looking into doing this myself next!
    Have any ideas on how to use the SeaFoam Top Engine Cleaner Spray for this particular model? Been trying to follow the intake boot but it seems to go downwards under

      Thanks for watching and yeah that air intake hose goes way down there it’s kind of hard to remove it all from the turbo, but I believed there’s a split right before the turbo that’s how u can spray the throttle body.

    • @MrJayPockets

      @@J.PROJECTZ oh perfect! I’ll check it out later this afternoon. Would the split between the Turbo and Throttle best be visible from the top or bottom of the car?
      I like to think that the throttle is the silver part with the green sticker + cables and that I need to spray inside the tube
      Sorry for all the questions, pretty new to car maintenance stuff

    Yes, hello. I am finding your videos very interesting and it is helping me become more knowledgeable. I have a mechanic that wants to replace my clutch system. I am not experiencing any symptoms while driving it. I have a 2016 Smart For Two Passion, automatic that has approximately 60, 958 miles on it. This is a huge expense and I am wondering if it should be done and what symptoms should I look out for. Also, my engine light stays on continually, which I notices the cars you work on the engine light is on? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

    • @J.PROJECTZ
      @J.PROJECTZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thanks for watching my videos 🤓 so on your clutch situation usually when is going bad is going to feel just like a manual transmission clutch going out (draggy/slipping) from a des stop or possibly at low speeds.
      And for the engine light mine has a code for a secondary air pump. I haven’t fixed that problem because it really doesn’t affects anything tbh is just for emissions purposes and we don’t have that here in Tx.

    • @artelectricalservicesandmo5735
      @artelectricalservicesandmo5735 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine had same symptoms before repair. Check engine light was on and shifting delayed some noises during increasing the speed. After speed is 60+ everything was ok besides check engine light.
      I would suggest to buy new clutch and two new forks from ford fiesta. And find some trusted mechanic not a shop.

    Hello again, what are the three canisters in the front. I notices that there is no liquids in them. I pretty sure one is window cleaner could you tell me what the other two are for. Not having very good luck in finding mechanics in this new state that I move to. Is there somewhere I can go to learn more about my car and it's maintenance? Thank you for your time!

    I have a 2016 Smart ForTwo Passion (purchased here in the USA). I found a very knowledgeable Jiffy Lube near me who does the whole deal and uses the Euro-Mobil One oil and I provide them with the 10,000 mile filter. So, I am pleased with how they kept me informed on exactly what they are doing.
    I have a question about the automatic TRANSMISSION oil. I am at 77,000 miles and I would think it is about time for a transmission fluid replacement. I called two Mercedes dealers who carried Smart cars when they were sold in the USA but honestly, I was not impressed with the answers I received. I've been online and read that a service should be done and other reports that it's a sealed-system and doesn't need changing (which seems odd to me). I can't find anything in the owner's manual about this.
    Do you have any insight on this? I can't find a good answer anywhere.
    Thanks!

    • @J.PROJECTZ
      @J.PROJECTZ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you. I know this and many other vehicles transmissions have no oil pan just a drain plug. The reason why Honda and CVT trans go bad is because of it 😆 people never change their transmission oil. In my experience with cars That I’ve owned I’ve always changed the oil myself even if the oil pan or manual says life time/no maintenance required and I’ve never had any problems with my transmission and believe me I drive all my cars like I stole them
      😆 🚗 💨
      I will probably make a video of it Stay tune .

      @@J.PROJECTZ Thanks! I'll try to discover is there is some transmission plug on the thing but I'm not finding any factory recommendations or even if there is a filter or screen to replace, or what fluid type to put in it. I appreciate the help! Great video, BTW!
      Oh, also, I had to buy an 8mm socket for Jiffy Lube to use along with some copper "crush" washer for the engine oil plug. All available on Amazon for peanuts.

      thank you for your comprehensive report. My isn't that bad, in is clear has to do with the software update at around 25 k kilometers. They used a modified one. There are reports about it. Its an emission isse but they messed it up. Probably there is an newer available sive 2020. They didnt want to switch it back to the earlier one. "Not possible" but i doubt.

    Hello smart owner. I got 2017 0.9 turbo with DCT. Works a bit weird. Transmission shifts with delay. Revers gear doesn’t work fast. Some noises on slow speed. Please make one video explaining how transmission works on yours. Is there any service for DCT.

      Check your cars software. Unfortunatley i told Mercedes to do an update to the software in 2021on my 453 90 PS and the shifts got more delayed.

      @@martinm3422 I got transmission out. Then inspect all parts inside. One of two clutch drivers was bad. I bought two ford fiesta mechanisms. They have different part number but quality is the same. They are $197 for two on Amazon. I compare them to the original one I bought for $597 and found they are identical. Also I ordered new clutch from Europe. I can’t find one in USA. Now I got 3K miles after repair and everything runs perfect. The delay on switching gears was because one of mechanisms was stuck and that messed up dual clutch. All repair was $197forks+$1040clutch+$255shipment from EU+ $1000 labor. I live in San Francisco. You may get it cheaper in your City or state.
