24:01 The thing with women's golf is their distances, being similar to what I can hit, makes it obscenely obvious how good they are. It's relatable in that it gives me a point of reference that lets me appreciate their skill far more. So no, not "relatable" but because they're not just driver wedging it around, it can be much more interesting
Just watched the Myrtle Beach video. Seriously guys, you should take that video as a compliment to your own videography and editing skills. Also: wow, Micah 😮😮😮
I don't watch live golf, only later through recordings. Skipping commercials and slow play makes it far more enjoyable. In Brooke Hendersons defense, they were keeping up with the other groups, the entire field was slow. Props to Nelly for being a fast player.
YT golf has an advantage as it is on-demand, rife with a variety of regularly fresh content, entertaining, content creators connect with their audience and the production quality (for many top channels) is very good.
TH-cam golf is better because we like to hear the players talk about shots and we edpecially like the banter between the players. Watching pro golf is only good for taking a nap.😂
I watched all of the golf bidder match but not all of the masters and played my first round yesterday so I think you might be the real start of the golf season
I watched the Golf bidder match (as I have since they started) and congratulations on your win. I am a 20 handicap golfer (76 years old) so no expert but one thing always sticks out to me is your swing which is so smooth. But Rick always looks like he's trying to kill the ball and the swing doesn't look fluent especially when it comes to chipping around the green. I often think if he slowed down a little he could be better. Like I say only my observation, not knocking.
After listening to the podcast, I came to the TH-cam edition to see Mick’s reaction to Pete getting GtP in one shot! I was disappointed to find out that the cameras didn’t show Mick’s reaction! If you did capture his reaction, please post it! 😆
Wesley Bryan had so much more views at the corales punrtacarna side event than all the players and clips from the RBC Heritage. That shows the reality! People are looking for opportunities to be part of the event - and players like Wesley Bryan or for all his brother George give them the chance therefore, they are like good friends and so fine guys too!
A question for next week's podcast.... was there a leaderboard at Myrtle Beach? Did George know where he stood on 18th tee? If so can you explain his 2nd shot choice on 18, wedge + wedge would have given him the W. Great round by Pete - should be v proud.
I got guess the player before hitting a shot :D Just knew it would be someone already mentioned on the show and felt it was about time we had a lady GTP
I hope all golfers come together in the long run. Wish that the PGA tour can be be premier league and that LIV will be kind of like the FA Cup. an important cup but not more important than premier Leuge.
The trivia game really needs to be tracked in relation to par. What’s the point of creating a par and measuring in relation to par when at the end of the day, 1 point is just granted to the person who gets the answer quickest?
There's a reason you don't really see channels split front 9/back 9 on each channel anymore. They can see how much money is made per video, so really easy to sort that out if money is a concern. Otherwise the second video just never gets the same viewership. I'd be incredibly surprised if they both weren't in total agreement about what videos go where
Charley Hull called out someone online who was shit talking womens golf and said name the course and she'd play him and beat him ......... the LPGA players are just better than the average male golfers .......
Definitely TH-cam golfers are more famous Put most top 30 golfers and rick, pete, fat perez at a meet and greet situation and the line for TH-camrs would be miles longer
YT golfers are more accessible because fan support is how they get paid. The Tour plyers dont need their fans following them around, they make bank playing in tournaments.
For sure it is. If I had an option of watching the masters this year or a Bryan Bros. video I’m watching Bryan Bros. the only thing that would change that is if Rory in contention but unfortunately that’s not a thing too often anymore. PGA has refused to adapt the game as peoples tastes change and people are not that interested in pro golf. I’d much rather see John Rahm on TH-cam than in a tournament. PGA better wake up make game more fun put players in shorts. Scottie just doesn’t excite me and anybody that can challenge him other than Rory are on LIV now. They have own problem 3 day events and players aren’t sharp anymore and ready for tournament play. Pro golf is a mess. TH-cam golf makes you smile.
That's because TV golf is so far removed from the common man and what we do. They have coaches, trainers, fitness regimes, hypnotherapists, perfect golf courses, bunkers where the ball rolls back into the middle, instead of rolling up to the front. GC quad on the practice ground where they can see how they just happen to be hitting it that day. Practice for 2 hours before they go out. They barely play in crap conditions like we do because it might affect their game, not to mention they practice day in day out... The list is almost endless. I unsubscribed from Sky Sports a few years ago because I just couldn't be bothered with it.
The official Mertyl Beach content was AWFUL. It was such a shame. They had the idea, got buy in from the PGA and then managed to get TH-camrs to keep quiet about the whole event for a month, only to release a wet fart of a video. It’s honestly some of the most boring golf content I’ve watched in years. I’m looking forward to the creators videos.
The Masters views were down because many people are just sick of listening to the constant childish bias 'LiV vs PGA' hatred the Golf channels keep spewing out. It's tiresome. Lots of people I spoke to were happier just watching the highlights on Monday. Until commentators become neutral and focus on the golf and not their pga scripted opinions, viewers will switch off. I watched it all.. but used the mute button ALOT 😂
Byron Nelson won 11 tour events... IN A ROW and 18 in one season (1945)... it amazes me for golf content creators, how little you know about golf history. With you people, it's as if golf records started with Tiger Woods!!
Most of the YT golfer showed their true abilities. Shooting 80s. Just as well George and Pete played well. Embarrassment for Micah, Grant and Fat Perez.
PGA golf TV coverage is unwatchable. I used to look so forward to The Majors, but TV coverage and the associated TV commentary has made TV golf horrid. The last couple of US Opens and now The Masters...so sad. I still have hope for The Open! Anymore, 95% of my golf intake is from TH-cam (Bryon Bros, Bryson, Pete, Rick,LIV, etc).
Its not a field issue, the pga tour and LIV players are slightly better than most players on YT... I thinknits more an access and coverage issue. Masters coverage is behind a pay wall in the UK, and the coverage is a snooze fest. Watch for 60 minutes and see 15 minutes worth of golf, the adverts, the bulking out talking rubbish in the studio, it's just such a bore fest. YT watch golf for an hour and get 50 minutes of golf... The LIV coverage on YT is miles better than PGA tour coverage. PGA Tour is stuck in a rut with its out of date coverage.
I watch TH-cam golf content but to me it's like watching reality tv. It's generally horseshit and entertainment. NOTHING replaces real golf by real golfers (PGA, LPGA and DP World Tours). LIV (to me) is also like watching the WWE (which I don't, so I don't watch LIV either). I certainly don't watch YT golf content for any instructional advice either because there's no way you (Peteror anyone else on YT) can fix my swing through a video... and I certainly can't accept unsolicited advice, sight unseen. But there's plenty of sucker fish in this YT pond. YT is a passing fad... like MySpace was, like Twitter was, like Facebook was, like TikTok was and TH-cam will be. It's becoming an oversaturated, content creator wasteland by "content creators" that HAVE no skill, nothing new to say, are in it for the money... because they are too lazy to work a REAL job.

Saving this gem for the commute to the office tomorrow. Just fancied saying hi!
What’s up brother! ☝️

You weren't in it enough IMO, I maybe a little biased - You smashed it tbh!

Enjoyed the pod as always - even I got a hole in one this week. With regards the golf bidder challenge a win is a win that's all that counts ⛳
Hi!
I love that a Shogun ad came in while you realised about Shogun.
Love Pete’s initial intro ❤🎉
A gold roulette wheel tropty that spun and had the ball glued to whatever red number the winner shot under par would be awesome!
Pete well done you where 4 shots away from getting a pga tour start. Well played to you mate.
Smashed a hole in 1 on this short par 4😀
THat was the Guatemala Rough Cut groupies coming in at 6 mins 30 seconds
I laughed hard at "bears don't fly"
Gladiator reference as well :)

It’s supposed to be fun. lol.
@@RoughCutGolfPodcast it is fun! The tracking was just fumbled :)
Masters coverage on their own website and app is getting so good that broadcast numbers are down. Doesn’t say anything about overall viewership.
I thought Rick played surprisingly well. Especially considering how rough he’s been playing the past couple years.
I don’t think it’s just golf. I would go as far as to say You tube as a whole is bigger than any form of tv.
PAW Patrol 👏🏻
I just watched the myrtle beach video they showed about 2 of Pete’s shots, they just showed their favourite players. It was crap.
Waaaaayyyyy too easy Mick!!!! 🙌👏🙌👏🙌👏
Sorry. Harder next time for sure.
When is the Padraig Harrington podcast being released ?
Next week, along with some main channel content with PH too!
@@RoughCutGolfPodcast
Cool thanks Pete and team 👍
I also went Brian Harmon lol
I can see it now.. Pete qualifies for the open, wins, gets invite to the masters. Easy.
Its super cool to see Richard Hammond between Jacob and Peter.
And to the twenty percent increased viewership, "I say unto you,Welcome"!
Really thought golf bidder match would be half on your channel half on ricks. Didn't seem right to just have club choices on yours

Rick's channel is their best bet to get the most views, they have agreements to split profits
Charley Hull called out someone online who was shit talking womens golf and said name the course and she'd play him and beat him ......... the LPGA players are just better than the average male golfers .......
Hole in one, too easy Mick.
Definitely TH-cam golfers are more famous
Put most top 30 golfers and rick, pete, fat perez at a meet and greet situation and the line for TH-camrs would be miles longer
I wouldn't say famous...but they are more relatable to the everyday golfer.
YT golfers are more accessible because fan support is how they get paid. The Tour plyers dont need their fans following them around, they make bank playing in tournaments.
He will having you play with broom and shovel soon😅
I'm sorry Mick, I'm absolutely sh*&e at this game and I got a hole in one mate 🤣
Not everyone is willing to sell their soul, regardless of the price. Besides, how much money does one need. Greed is destroying many things.
I got an eagle- Peter gave it away to me
Love the sweatshirt #forksup
If I started -50 in an 18 hole match, I’d lose to Nelly Korda by 6 shots
Fewer people prepared to pay SKY crazy prices for the Sky Sports package to watch The Masters
After clue 1, I'm thinking Nelly.....
Everyone set their VPN Guatemala
If you had to watch youtube videos live it wouldnt come close. Its a completely different category.
I like Mick but is there any situation which he can’t relate to a movie scene.
I’ve mastered the art of movie reference, my family speaks almost entirely in quotes.
@@RoughCutGolfPodcast 🤣
@@RoughCutGolfPodcastis your apartment filled with many leather bound books?
Hunting bear is not illegal in Canada. You just need a license

I believe Nelson won 18 in a season.

Tiger won 9 in a season. 7 in a row. Byron Nelson won 11 in a row. Scheffler hasn't won 3 in a row yet.
John Rahm didn't get the green jacket but may have brown pants💩

Least viewed podcast in Guatemala after that crack!
It’s not the tournament no one wants to watch it’s the poor broadcast we have in the states
Had in two. Her dad is kind of famous for steroids and dropping a tennis major Championship.

So basically Rory is saying if you take a massive amount of blood money then that’s all good ? 🤔
