Maestro Williams’ sensational and powerful orchestral score thrills and awes, ranking as one of the composer’s most celebrated and unique works.
Produced, edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, the 96k/24 bit master files utilized in our previous 2016 collection have been newly output and remastered, including minor sonic improvements throughout. Newly added to this 2-CD expanded reissue are never before released takes of “On The Glass,” “Rescuing Sarah” and “The Raptors Appear,” all featuring alternate instrumentation, plus the unique film version of “Ripples” The 28-page CD booklet features liner notes by Matessino (adapted from our 2016 collection) and the new art design is by Jim Titus. This is a limited edition of 5000 Units.
This film edit of "Ripples" was not constructed by me like my previous edit. My edit was kind of close but still a bit off compared to what was edited together into the film mix. On "The Legacy of John Williams" podcast, it was revealed that what you're hearing at 6:20 was something the music editors messed around with the mix and the synths, along with looping different parts of the cue to create a slower buildup to the Rex entering the tent, versus the much louder original version of the cue Williams wrote for this scene. The only edit I made to this was the small edit at 8:05, where an 8 second section was trimmed out. Everything else in Ripples here was created editorially by Mike Matessino.
