This guy is a screenwriting genius he’s written some of the best episodes of The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Get Rich or Die Tryin and of course this masterpiece
I admire Terry's attitude and work ethic so much. He deserves his success and is a lesson to all of us to never give up! The story of the Warner Brothers Sitcom Writers Workshop (at 3.50) is just incredible....most would have given up then but not him. His writing is genius!
I would have thought the creators/writers/directors of The Sopranos would have regularly received death threats from mobsters for making fun of the mob let alone being accused of glorifying it. It's making fun of mobsters to the nth degree. First and foremost I consider the Sopranos a comedy... it's not even subtle... it's heavy handed, while still be written well.
This guy is brilliant but i honestly think the script could have been more effectively constructed. it feels a bit sprawling and shapeless....although i still enjoyed it. keep up the great interviews david!
He was born to work with Marty. He's from Brooklyn, drove a cab, worked on wall street, and worked as an emergency room security guard.
that's why these guys write rich resonant stuff vs. kids outta NYU/USC who have never experienced anything but consume media and then try and imitate
DAMN is it a coincidence??, Bro Marty's films: Bringning Out The Dead, Wolf of Wall Street, Taxi Driver....daym

The great Terence Winter. Thanks, enjoyed it.
Really great interview as usual, didn't even notice the time passing by
Great interview, he's such a great writer
Perfect evidence that the writer is the most import person in TV. Great writer!

Another great sit down.

well, when you're an Oscar nominee I will take your statement seriously.
@@coleb23 Terence Winter never had the makings of an academy award winner
Killing Michael Pitt was a disgrace. Boardwalk went downhill after that.
They did it because they were having a lot of trouble with the actor. Apparently Pitt was very difficult.
No, season 3 was excellent. But yea him dying wasn’t best for the show.
