Underrated does not even capture this man's place in NFL history. clearly one of the best players and in my estimation the best middle linebacker bar none.
My favorite Chicago Bear. He was so dominant on the field and played with such intensity. Great memories watching him playing, especially when they won the Super bowl.
Samurai Mike! One of the surest tacklers I’ve seen in my life. It’s pretty nuts to think he made 1st or 2nd team All Pro every year of his career save for one. That is just wild.
Excellent video! I've been looking for Singletary highlights forever and this is the first time I've actually found one. All of the other "highlight" video's just show him talking. This gives me a much better picture of how he played the game. Thank you!
You've been looking forever for singletary highlightes because in reality , Mike was not very good , he was small , slow ,and nobody feared his mediocre hits . This vid was his career best . Mike succeeded only due to the mega superstars surrounding him , most of the time , when backs did get loose , they would run over Mike and around him with a simple one cut move , the majority bof his career , he was second or third cleanup tackle . Singletary thrived because of all the talent around him . Put Mike on any other team , you never would have heard his name . Singletary = overated
Love at 1:13 when Mike starts to make the tackle and Otis Wilson dives in and tries to forearm the guy in the head like a savage. Him Marshall and Wilson are royalty.
i am a Steelers fan. Mike Singletary is one of the greatest football players ever. Note , I didn't just say Linebacker. I said football player. Damn, wish he was a Steeler. He would have fit in fine.
In the stop on Dickerson, all three linebackers were there. Singletary was great, but he also played with great players. Wilson, Marshall, Hampton, Perry, Dent, McMichael, Singletary. Such a dominant front seven. Nobody could move the ball against those 85' bears. Best defense I've ever seen.
Jim Johnson hey man, real talk. They good at producing great RB’s as well. Put I hate that Urlacher over shadowed Briggs like he did, because Lance was a straight up Dog man, that deserves way more recognition. But that’s how great Brian was, and I respect that. I’m willing to bet money tho, that if Briggs & Tillman was on another team, and did what they did, no doubt they’ll be first ballots too. Man, Tillman wasn’t a great cover man, but the dude was a turnover machine, that made big play after big plays. But then again, he cover megaton and moss pretty good tho. That defense should be rate up there with the 85 Bears, 78 Steelers, & 01 Ravens, because they almost won with Rex Gross at QB
The guy had the FRIDGE along side him. They would just tear right through the offensive line. There wasn’t time to put the women and children to bed before looking for dinner when you played the 85 Bears.
Objectively he’s not really underrated because most people know he was great. In my opinion one of the greatest Mike linebackers in history, and not just because his name was Mike!
all hail BUDDY RYAN! Defensive architect of SB III NY JETS & SB XX CHICAGO BEARS. Ryan ran the defense thru Singletary & pretty much let the other line guys feast.
Singletary was scary good. Quick on his feet and hit you like a Mac truck. You ever watch his eyes right before the snap? He looked almost demented, but the funny part is that off the field he was a minister
Me being a former high school football player, I get chills watching his highlights, along with all of the greats at middle linebacker, the rush you get after you make a bone crushing hit is undescribable but the experience of that beautiful violent collision is equivalent to sex, it gives one an unbelievable rush of adrenaline.
My hometown football team was my first favorite football team, but The Chicago Bears were my very first pro favorite team. Started at 84-85 when I was just a little bitty guy. Probably because of the bad ass football team and the Bears Shuffle….lmao
The Cowboys didn't draft Mike Singletary (LB) because their computer said he was too small for the position. Also, they passed on Randy Moss (WR) due to his problems in college and didn't think he would fit in with the team they had at the time, so they drafted Greg Ellis (DE). Idiotic for sure, they should have drafted the best on the board at any position no matter what the computer wanted them to do.
Good thing they have highlights , these were the only plays he made People forget how often he was the cleanup guy .Second , third to the tackle majority of ankle tackles He was the most over hyped overated player on a team of superstars . He was mediocre . Small , slow , little power ,backs 9 out of 10 times backs would run through and around him he thrived due to the mega players that surrounded him . You could've put anyone in his position with that D line , the best D in history and they would've been an all-star .
LOL! Congratulations on making what is easily one of the most dumb ass comments in the history of TH-cam. And with awful grammar/punctuation to boot. Moron.
You don't make it to the hall of fame being mediocre. I think your problem is his Christian beliefs. It's amazing to me the conclusions you draw when you reject God, like evolution.
y not...Ankle tackles? Obviously you missed the play where Eric Dickerson RAN INTO flat footed Singletary, and Singletary buried him backward. Why don't you try that "y not". Singletary kept his mouth shut and let his play define him, as opposed to the overhyped players of today. During his prime Singletary was a beast!! Singletary's responsibility was covering guard to guard and he did a damn good job!!
Underrated does not even capture this man's place in NFL history. clearly one of the best players and in my estimation the best middle linebacker bar none.
I thought the same thing as I watched this vid today, He was completely underrated.
Top 3 all time
Ray and Luke got him beat tho.
Ray Lewis
Luke Kuechly
Mike Singletary
Fred Warner
Jack Lambert
Dick Butkus
Derrick Brooks
My favorite Chicago Bear. He was so dominant on the field and played with such intensity. Great memories watching him playing, especially when they won the Super bowl.
The stop on Dickerson was one of the all time top tackles, probably top 10
Agreed, it's like Dickerson ran into a wall. Only a bad dude can pull that off!!
Amen, stopped him like a bad check. 💀🔥
And in a playoff game! That tackle set the tone for the game.
No Doubt but the greatest hit I've ever seen was Gary Reasons goal-line stands
@@abrahamjackson6019 I gotta agree with you there--that was epic
I’m a packer fan but this dude had a motor my father was a bears fan and I can still remember sitting in front of the tv and watching mike play
Samurai Mike! One of the surest tacklers I’ve seen in my life.
It’s pretty nuts to think he made 1st or 2nd team All Pro every year of his career save for one. That is just wild.
One of the top 75 players off all time easily. Should have been on that list. Certainly too 3 mlb of all time.
I thank you for putting this up you don't know how long I've been waiting for sum real highlights to be posted from this legend
Excellent video! I've been looking for Singletary highlights forever and this is the first time I've actually found one. All of the other "highlight" video's just show him talking. This gives me a much better picture of how he played the game. Thank you!

Singletary = overated
@@ynot6781Your assessment is overrated.
Mike Singletary is one of the greatest middle linebackers of all time. He is a Chicago Bears legend along with Walter Payton and a few others.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
That defense broke souls.
Now the EasyPlay rules, charity for the offense, prevents that from ever happening again.
He's the reason i became a bears fan
Love at 1:13 when Mike starts to make the tackle and Otis Wilson dives in and tries to forearm the guy in the head like a savage. Him Marshall and Wilson are royalty.
Hell yea Otis was the baddest out of all three of them, he didn’t give a fuck, just wanted to crack some skulls
"the guy" thats john riggins put some respect on it
Mama's boy ,Otis, one of a kind!
@@mailliwnella The ladies all loved him for his body and his mind. Haha
He was PHENOMENAL!
He was the most overated player on the bears
@@ynot6781 how was he the most overated players when he's probably one of the greatest mlb's of all time

Michael Singletary is one of the most underrated superstars in the history of the National Football League 🏈
One of the best middle linebackers ever. Tough and smart
Before Ray Lewis, it was this man

FACTS 💯
I've been a Dolphins fan my whole life, and any time I saw the Bears on the schedule, I dreaded him and that defense. He was a beast.
Samurai Mike
Hershel Walker said the hardest he's ever been hit was by Mike Singletary
Which could be why he's barely coherent nowadays. 😁
He's a very underrated player in nfl history.
LMAOO!! Underrated?!? No one thinks that
Objectively he’s not really underrated because most people know he was great. In my opinion one of the greatest Mike linebackers in history, and not just because his name was Mike!
1:28 is the most savage leap block of all time
Great childhood memories watching him play!
One of my favorite players of all time.
i'm going to tell my kids that this is when football players were allowed to tackle
Those eyes before the snap would make a QB and RB 💩 themselves!
THE REAL DEAL.
The classiest

Next to Derrick Thomas and the GOAT LT, he's probably the best LB of the late 80s...forgotten among his peers
What A Great Player
What a great player
Great video! I watch all of them and enjoy them.
If you could do a Hardy Nickerson highlight that would be appreciated.

Dick Butkus...Mike Singletary...Jack Lambert... Ray Lewis...Ray Nietzsche...Chuck Bednarik
Ray Lewis before Ray Lewis. Mike was WAY ahead of his time 🔥🔥🔥
The first time I saw him at Baylor I wasn't sure about his size.
It's those all seeing big eyes of his and to think he looks so civilized when he wears glasses go figure
The Cowboys didn't draft Mike Singletary (LB) because their computer said he was too small for the position. Mike Singletary bears a strong resemblance to Jordan Peele.
He was a powerbottom
You can see how all the defensive players not hold back.
He was more of run destructive LB, but he can play the pass good.
Who you think Coached RAY LEWIS all those years...
Watch it live on the game on TH-cam loudest hit ever heard
He is known for being a great player an taking his pants off to get his team hyped
Love this man! Up on the same platform as Butkus, Nitschke, Mike Curtis, Jack Lambert, LT et cetera . Matt Mad Dog 🐕 Sweeney
The man who inspired ray Lewis as a kid
right at 3:33-:35 you can see those infamous mike singletary eyes. like the devil on coke
Singletary was good but you have guys like Bill Bergey and Randy Gradishar that were better that aren't even in the HOF.
Buddy ball
Exceptional nose 👃 for the ball...Mad Dog 🐕

Don’t watch it then you melt
Horse collar tackles, helmet to helmet contact...Football was better back then. The NFL has neutered professional football.
