Woohoo! So exciting to see you two working on the new property. Maybe you should tie up the old branches and pull them out with the truck or atv, save your back! I love you guys and am so excited for you.

Bryan worked really hard, Shelley. And he fell pretty hard a few times, lol. For a job this size, just do like you all did today, a little at a time, and keep telling yourself that each thing you get done, you don’t have to do it again. Going to be great.

Shelley, maybe you could try the sun protective farmers sleeves for your arms while you are clearing your property.

Unless u have a problem with using herbicides suggest you save a very lot of rework and paint the stumps within ten mins of cutting down shrubs or trees with either a 20-25% mixture of glyphosate or the product named ‘stump killer’. If not you’ll have to cut that brush etc again. Just a thought Enjoyed watching the video

We have an excavator coming in a couple weeks to dig out the stumps and till up the growing space… hoping that will help!

Of course, sumac and poison sumac are VERY different plants.

Be careful pulling those vines. My husband threw his back out when we were young pulling vines off the side of a house. Still has trouble to this day with his back.

Great video! You guys are so entertaining! That type of work sucks but you’ll get there in no time. My back hurts just watching ya, lol. We gotta do the same thing at our land too. The barn is going to be beautiful! I heard on flower hill farm she’s in NY, uses Repellex granular for the voles at her flower farm. Also, she plants extra every thing for deer and critter pressure. Something, I learned this past year about ponds is they need maintenance for algae control. It will get really nasty if left unchecked all summer. And a pump helps. Idk, we have 2 ponds to maintain that we knew nothing about a couple years ago but we’re learning too. So much fun to be part of your journey! 😊❤

Go to your local farm elevator and ask for stump killer. It's a liquid you put on stumps after cutting down that kills it. Or you can let it grow back and redu again. It will be so beautiful when done.

You two are so funny together. Bryan did such a good job with those vines, not voles! You'll probably find resident critters inside the barn ! Looks good after only 1 day of clearing! You probably should increase hubby's life insurance, he does fall down a lot!! 🙂

To the "King of Procrastination" you did a great job. The front of the barn looks so nice now. Shelly you are both work horses. Great job. Bryan about the moles and voles they both burrow in the ground, voles feed on plants and tree bark (vegetarians) and roots and stems of plants and moles feed on plants and insects(meat eaters). Take a look on the internet to see the difference between them(easier then explaining them.) Oh I'm with Shelly I would keep and use the tree you kept would make a great welcome sign. Would look great for Christmas with lights on it and what about eggs hanging on it for Easter time. There are more possibilities I'm sure too! But wow what a great start today. Great job!

Have nicknamed this “The Funny Farm”. 😂 Absolutely hilarious watching and listening to the two of you ‘bicker’ and tumble. One suggestion I have is to hit the tops of all those stumps with round up otherwise your gonna get a boat load off shoots coming back. Also could you do a controlled burn of the fields. The charring is great for the soil and would speed up the clean up.

I did notice when the hubs fell, looked he just missed hitting some big cement block thing, glad he's ok...shwee. That pond is fabulous.!
