very nice advice! Crazy to see how thick those monstera get when you get em on a plank like that. Nice work!
Ya, that one got chunky quick
This video captures the guidance for these guys in a way that’s so easy to understand. Thanks for always putting out such helpful content and for being a calm kind presence in the plant community. I will definitely share this with people who want to know more about growing this type of Monsteras well.
And goodness, I have a Thai with a wayward leaf that I only have myself to blame for. I thought I was arranging it correctly so that it would grow towards the light source but I definitely didn’t. Sometimes you can know better and still not do better 😂
Thanks so much and I appreciate the support!!!
I've been wanting to get this plant and the only thing holding me back was my lack of knowledge on how to take care of it. Your videos are super informative and easy to follow.
Definitely get a monstera plant!!!
You're the "plant whisper " such an informative video I've learned so much ! Thank you
Thanks Gloriana!!!
Very helpful! My larger plants grow “out” in all directions instead of up. Now I know why and how to correct
I don't always agree with everything you say but I love your videos sir! I love your collection and your pride in plants! Good job brother!!
Thanks Bob! I really appreciate that
Perfect timing ... just bringing my sprawling monsteras inside for the winter. Love the pencil pointer, Jeff.

This is most interesting. I still do not think that I know front from back of the Monsterra, but I have none. How often do you repot these? Are they fast growers in a home environment?
My regular green monstera deliciosa are fast growers my thai constellation is not as fast
The regular green ones are fairly fast growing when given good light! Repotting depends entirely on how fast it grows...but generally once every 1-2 years
Hey Jeff I have a monstera deliciosa that has put out a double leaf on the same petiole the leaves are fenestrated as its not a juvenile plant what causes this I wish I could send pics
You can send it to my Instagram account in the messenger
Wish I had seen this a couple of years ago. I repotted my MD. There were multiple plants and I put all of them in the same pot all willy nilly. Now, it's a HUGE mess and needs repotting again. Actually, it's a beauty, but I just don't have the real estate indoors to accommodate its size and girth. 🙄
You can still separate it and stake them up individually. Feel free to send a pic to my Instagram if you need
As someone who's just getting into plants and learning I sure appreciate all your clear and informative videos! Your big jade plant is inspiring! I have 3 monstera's that I need to do this with, thankyou!
Thanks man. I just put a plank in my Thi and you proved I did it correctly. Right on. I lost so many plants when I moved from Huntington Beach Ca to Maricopa Az I have been extra careful of the ones that made it to this point. Great videos.
Glad this video reaffirmed your plank placement and sorry to hear about your other plants
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants lovely collection beautiful Houseplants lovely
Glad you went up 2 sizes. You use a good mix, that was a good call. My TC is only like one step in front of this one. Your roots looked well developed, it looks happy, looking forward to seeing it grow out.
Thanks. I'm happy with this setup and hope it grows LARGE leaves!
Happy Birthday Jeff! 🎊 🎉🎈🎂🪴🌱
Thank you!
It was my birthday yesreday on the 19th😊 wanted to say this looks like a nice guy 😋 October baby
Well done Jeff! Love your experiments-you make me a better grower, many thanks to you. Haircut very cool 💕👋🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
Great filming. Perfect angle, view and lighting to actually see what you are doing.
Thanks, I really appreciate that..... Glad you enjoyed it! I hope you check back for more
Thanks for the tutorial 💓. Just need more planks.😊
Thanks for watching
Nicely done Jeff!
Thanks Carol
Thank you for your great informative videos. Do you have any suggestions for African Violets?
Surprisingly I have never owned one lol
Great video!
Thanks!
How do you know which support to use ? Cedar planks or moss poles ? I have a lot of anthurium syngonium Alocasia varieties
For a monster you can use anything from a 2x4 to a piece of wood found outside
Great video. My monstera is getting big but no support yet (I didn't know!). Mine looks more like the plant at 2:45 in this video, but just one plant. How do i get it to train upward? Im nervous to damage the stem.
Hello what do I do with big leaves that has yellow ends ? Thanks.
Most likely a watering issue. They can get like this with 'over watering' Make sure the soil dries out. If it gets worse then take it out of the pot and have a look at the roots.
It can also get like this if it's not receiving enough water as well...lol confusing I know. But one of the main reasons for this is it might be root bound....again check the roots!
@@EverythingPlants thank you for responding to me.
Could this one have gone on a moss pole as well?
You can, but typically it requires more maintenance. All it needs is a support stake, otherwise you'll just have to keep that moss pole damp
Jeff, what does it mean when one of the monstera leaves is facing down, like if the leave’s neck was broken?
Is it an older leaf? Is it facing light?
@@EverythingPlants no, I’ce seen it on my friend’s plant and it’s a newer leaf. I was thinking it’s because it was cold, the plant was outside
💚
So if I have two main vines in my monstera, you definitely would separate them ? It’s getting huge (which is why I’m researching support for it)
Is that a large form or small form? My monstera that I plucked from Walmart has those lil bendy kinks in the petiole like your little thia constellation from the begging. It's actually the same size as its 4 leaf stage with 4 leaves the 5th leave will make mine the same size hopefully.
Perfect timing 👌🏽 😌 🙌
Did you buy a monstera recently?
@EverythingPlants No, I have one that I split into two. They need a plank and bigger pot, so I am finally ready to give them planks!
