    There was a misprint on the back of the double tiles. They cost 2 wood, not a wood and a grain. That is what is in the rule book and has been confirmed to be correct.

    I was on the fence for this one, but you pushed me over. Thanks for the great review, Zee!

    Certain elements of this game seem to call to mind Castles of Burgundy for me. And I'm not mad at it for that.
    Great review, as always.
    I find that your walkthroughs of games are very easy to follow, and your areas of focus are clear for gameplay digestion.

    Wouldn't compare it to other Aporta games, although there are some similarities with random draw/roll and building your board (like in Avenue). But this feels more like a mesh of Barenpark, No Siesta or even some more complicated Rosenberg games with tetris style tile laying. Some also compared dice rolling withe Castles of Burgundy. But everything seems on a medium, lighter level, which is great.

    Great review! I see it says it works solo. Might be interesting to see how that works. Is definitely on my radar.

      Solomode gaming on youtube has a solo gameplay you might be interested in watching. He specifically focuses on solo versions of games if that is something that is of interest to you.

    This TARGET review method feels choppy... It would be better if you began the Final Thoughts with at least 20secs of enthusiastic overall impressions, e.g. did you like it? did you hate it? If you jump straight into the TARGET, it gets quite anti-climatic

      well I noticed that he listened to his comments by adding the "rating" or "Go-NO-Go: system for each category so I'm sure he will continue listening and improving the great videos!

      The irony is that I actually like the "by category" approach, as it does create some order... I just think that by jumping right into it without some sort of intro commentary leaves the listeners hanging without a hint on if the game is ultimately good or not... and that suspense makes me lose interest.

      DTM Suspense is fun for entertainment, but it’s frustrating with news or reviews. I agree that a brief summation of how much he likes the game before TARGET would be best. Informative presentations should lead with an introductory paragraph that tells the audience what’s coming.

    The TARGET review parallels with how Zee tends to talk about games anyway - I think it works great. The theme though... geez. I live in California, not far from Santa Maria, and we learn in school about how natives were slaughtered by the Conquistadors and how the missionaries ran the missions like slave plantations. Is this not common knowledge elsewhere? Why pick a theme like this? At worst, its hurtful and naive and at best it's boring and uninspired. I just don't see the draw. But the game looks super fun! I'm definitely going to try it next chance I get.

    This looks like a great game, but is it just me or does the main board look messy? Paths just randomly going places, tiles that all look really similar. Look forward to playing it though.

    Did I mishear or did you start off the video with "Hate, hate, everybody"? Oh, Zee, formerly voice of the people, now board game bad boy (of the people). Where will this lead?

    Great review! Fantastic game with great mechanics, BUT I really don´t like the artwork. Those smiley faces for example are quite creapy and, as you mentioned, the whole theme can put people off. Too bad, because it really is a great Euro Game!

    In 2018 everything seems to be offensive: slaves in Five Tribes and colonists in Santa Maria. Everybody is so sensitive yet no one give a damn about gore and demons galore in ameritrash. That is cool and perfectly normal.

    • @boardgameknight2791
      @boardgameknight2791 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Demons aren't real, they aren't apart of our history. I think that's the main difference, but you ask a good question. Gore in general doesn't make people feel the same as being reminded of friends, family, ancestors, that suffered from a culture of slavery.

      @@boardgameknight2791 If you are a Christian and take the Bible as truth, then you believe that demons are very much real things

      @@davekoehnlein4575 Sure, but are they a part of our American history like slavery is?

    • @davekoehnlein4575
      @davekoehnlein4575 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boardgameknight2791 I was just giving a different opinion. You mentioned the difference being that demons aren't real and so that's why it's accepted more. I can only speak for myself, and for me, demon's are as real and as dangerous and evil as slavery or social injustices or the holocaust or whatever. So it goes back to the original poster's comment showing frustration at the fact that one thing is chastised in the board gaming community while the other isn't. I guess I just wanted to comment and let you know that some people take both things as real and they can be equally offensive. I hope I didn't come off as rude!

    • @boardgameknight2791
      @boardgameknight2791 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davekoehnlein4575 No worries, you haven't been rude at all, Dave. :) Perhaps slavery, and the structural oppression left in its aftermath, are kinds of demons themselves...
