Do you use the same rod and leader for the smaller water, or do you downsize one or both? I've been having a blast at the second river now that trout season is closed near Madras
I use a similar leader setup full time, but I will increase or decrease to poundage and rod weight depending on what river or time of year it is. All Cortland Camo Euro Nymph Leader Material. 😎👍
I can't seem to figure out the dirty water fishing. Do you change up your fly choice in dirty water? Like to bigger, darker or brighter, or flashier flys, or just fish your normal bugs?
Definitely a grind for me too. This round I used brighter egg and perdigon patterns as well as darker leech (swimming) patterns. Bigger can be a good option too, depending on water type and size of target species. Spend more time working through water to get it in the exact spot for them to see and take. I find I’ll lose more fish off the hook sometimes, with them swiping/slashing/missing the fly more. It’s great practice! And look forward to better water next round!
I actually left the better water, looking for better water! I’m going back (to one of them) tomorrow and hopefully the rest of the month, so we’ll see some changes in the water as we go 😎👍

@@TroutDirty "get it in to the exact spot for them to see" yeah I think that's the best advice.
the more blown out and brown the water is the more they want worms.

Two different rivers fairly far apart. Nice!

I'm headed to the second water next Saturday. Hopefully the CFS stays at or below what they are now!
😎👍
Get to da chappah!
