That's really cool. I used to tap into the stock sensor with a headphone amplifier. Obviously not something you'd do outside of tuning. This makes things super convenient for every day driving.
@@RallyRanchMotorsport it was a small FiiO amplifier. I used it with bose noise cancelling headphones and could clearly hear knock when it occured. The sensor is literally a small microphone...
lol I love it "nerds go faster" I like the simplicity of the product! I just made my own thing to easily transfer car to car. This looks relatively easy to transfer between customer cars? Keep it up mate
Thanks dude! It's pretty easy to transfer from car to car, but I do have a dedicated portable version that uses a 9-volt battery so that all I have to do is both the knock sensor to the engine and I'm good to go
I am interested to know how the knock picked up by the knock detective compared to the ECUs internal knock control's recognition of knock. Do you have a video where you did not disable the factory knock control?
@@AZGhost623 Ideally to the center of your block close to the deck, but anywhere on the engine will work. I've even bolted it onto my transmission to test it and you can still hear knock clearly.
Nice item, the fact is without laptop, there will false lighting and thinking knock is building than by decreasing the sensivity it will be dangerous at boost + higher pms

Which headphone amplifier?
Did you find it effective for detecting knock?

Love the video man, hope to be able to get into this someday soon!
I will be buying one soon. So damn cool.

Thanks for making this! 👍
i wish i could test this on my crv lmao
You can test it on anything 😜
That is awesome
How much knocking sensor? It can be use in motorcycle? You have viber?
Is this an analogue device or microprocessor based?

Great idea! I'll make a video showing that exact thing
How does this work with old cars with no ECU?
This is a standalone device that only requires 12V and ground to operate. It comes with it's own knock sensor so you can bolt it to anything
@@FWLR.tuning where would it bolt to? Valve cover? Block? Something else?

In case if you are wondering, knock sound in the recording sounds like a cockroach
