    These two together are the best of TFL, they are hilarious. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Andre has really come into his own on the channel. If you go back and watch the old videos he was almost just a prop who sputtered random Russian rants lol. Not to mention they do these videos in my backyard. Glad they are representing CO so well. Good work as always you guys!

      Yeah, let's all go back and watch those old video's! Nothing like spending your time watching and listening to a couple of old gas bags go on and on about something totally irrelevant to 99% of the population while spewing out tons of "C" - Zero - two into the atmosphere, that's CO2, btw. Andre's life would be better spent if he took one of these trucks back to Russia and ran it right over Putin's bald head.

      Yeah Idk why GM can get a grill, light set up looking so good and Chev not so, even in the brink of overdone ugly. IMO GM should spin all of their trucks into a GM only truck division, not trying to upset Chev fans, but it would make sense and save a lot of money.

    As others have said, now we need to see a re-test of the gas 6.6 with the 10 speed instead of the 6 speed. Before the engine wasn't really able to stay in the powerband, and the fact that the shortest axle gearing was 3.73 and not 4.10 really hampered it going uphill. The new transmission could completely change the outcome.

    @matthewanderson9912 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Nice video. Always glad to see Mr Truck and Andre. Also glad to hear you guys mention the size and type of trailer you were towing and how it affects things like fuel economy for example.
    My complaints would be the towing sticker again. It’s never been VIN specific, just configuration specific which is what every tow rating is. If you do the math based off the sticker (27500 GCWR-8387 Curb Weight) you get 19,113. Of course you have to add a driver so that number would dip below 19,000 but that’s always been the case.
    Lastly the fuel tank size. I’m glad Mr Truck went the opposite way here and didn’t complain. When it comes to short bed trucks GM has the biggest tank. Ford only offers 34 gallons and Ram is 30 or 32. So not sure what the gripe is from Andre in this configuration.

      Not sure if I should have waited. I bought a half ton Ultimate a few weeks ago and the dealer I got mine from has a 3/4 ton that should be there any day now. Only about $10k extra then last night I find a dealer over in St Louis that has 4 of them on the lot posted on their site. I guess I probably don't need a 3/4 ton this truck is my daily driver and I do still have an old 06 crew cab 8 foot 3/4 ton I keep around so I don't ding up my personal truck hauling junk or anything.

    I really like that you are using the Banks I dash, I swear by it! I didn't see any mention of transmission temps on the test or mention of what gear the transmission was in which is easily accessible with the I dash. I know you can't do this with a new loaner from GM, but I would really like to see how a 20-23 Duramax with the Banks Derringer installed would do on the IKE. On the 20-23 it adds 80 RWHP and 144 RWTRQ. I just bought a 2023 Denali 3500 Dually and immediately installed the Derringer and it really perks up the engine.

    Suggestion...
    When measuring the height difference between trailer attached and not, you really should be measuring from a fixed point, such as the bottom of the wheel rim.
    Measuring as you do now, is affected by how much the tires compress too.
    Measuring to somewhere like the bottom of the wheel or the center of the wheel, will give you an accurate number of the SUSPENSION change only.
    People who fit heavier duty tires, won't suffer from as much tire squish

    I live in Canada and I did a build and price on one of these in the 3500 hd and the fact that it's 129k and then a gm dealership in Edmonton does custom trucks so they add a lift, new wheels and tires, black out badges aftermarket exhausts etc and cost around the same price is just crazy yes its only a 1500 or an AT4 2500hd but that's just crazy

There are aftermarket company's that offer larger fuel tanks for diesel trucks but the gas guys are just outta luck and I see a lot of guys switching to gas because of the high buy in, fuel cost and upkeep on the diesel platform. I think that trailer brake controller is in the perfect spot. No matter if you are right or left handed. I have had other trucks where its basically in front of your knees under the steering wheel in places that just aren't really ideal. I don't have this truck but I do have one of the 2023 half ton Denali Ultimate and its in the same location. Kinda making me think I should have waited a few weeks and got the 3/4 ton since I found a dealer with 4 of them and they are only about $10k more lol. The dealer I got mine from has a 3/4 ton in route too. I don't really tow enough for me to need it but it would still be nice to have. I do have a 3/4 ton though an old crew cab 8 foot bed 06 I keep around. I thought about selling it going to def keep it around now so I don't have to worry about dinging up my pretty new Ultimate hauling firewood, scrap, junk whatever. I don't really care if I scratch that old truck.

    • @zacharyyosh3720
      @zacharyyosh3720 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not the pushing of the button that is a problem…it adjusts to hold your speed and doesn’t decelerate when the road flattens out or changes grade like a simple on-off mode. It also kicks on under braking during flat roads, saving you some premature wear on the brakes. Just seems like a very handy feature that gives you one less thing to think about when you’re driving around the country for hours a day

    One thing I’ll note, I feel as if 3.42s are more highway cruising than towing so I’d feel as if a 3.73-3.83 or even 4.11s would probably make these real stout but kill fuel economy.

I would have to drive one to be sure but a lot of the heavy duty dodges came with them and once they were tuned a lot of people said they loved the 3.42s because once they were at highway speeds the engine was just humming along Vs screaming.
