I briefly talked with Freddie after a small show in Portland around the time Shadow of a Doubt released. He was a really genuine guy and wanted to make sure his set was well received since he hadn’t performed much in Oregon. With all the Europe shit and a couple albums that were underwhelming, I thought his best work might be behind him. Then a pair of LA legends contribute to two awesome albums in under a year. The Madlib reunion proved to be worth the wait. Then I’m online the other day and see this project I had no idea was in the works with Alchemist. Whether it be alongside Evidence, the late great Prodigy, Eminem, on his own or scoring the most memorable video game of he decade in GTA 5...Over 35 minutes Alchemist and Freddie seem to mesh effortlessly. Seeing Freddie good off during the into to some of the newer videos is good to see. The man is clearly happy; and I don’t think that’s always been the case.. Great work
