it’s NOT a current issue but one that has continued for fucking decades and centuries-it’s just that privileged people that were apathetic/ignorant in the past are catching the wave now
@@CatoMinemcrideisepic that's the mf truth right there. After the Civil War, police functioned to specifically target black people, even if they were free. I'm totally botching this, but do some Googling and check it out. Black people haven't caught a break for centuries, and usually at the hands of white people.
i’m basically an outsider from the black community, but i had to come back here after all the news that broke out, George Floyd being the most recent incident. I couldnt believe that they would execute a black man in broad daylight, on video.
They’ve been doing it for decades just without cameras, don’t let it surprise you, just make the most of what you can do for that man without resorting to the same violence that was inflicted on him
This isn’t anything new to us. We’ve been experiencing this for years. Decades! I still remember stories my grandma shares of dealing with these SAME issues. Except it was MUCH worse for generation.
This song keeps me strong every single day. The struggle here in Italia is real right now. But hope springs eternal. We gon’ be alright. ALL LIVES MATTER WHEN BLACK LIVES MATTER

This music video put a huge smile on my face. I am so proud of Kendrick's involvement with the racial war between the Police and black people and how instead of giving the police negative feedback he is informing us that it will be alright and not to lose hope. TPAB is pure gold.
You can't do anything BUT be proud of this man. Watching this video puts a huge smile on my face, & takes me back the 90's. When everything was awesome, and my generation was able to play outside and be kids..
Tony Glenn back then with the l.a. riots and black people acting like fools and the creation of gangsta rap causing white and black people to be separated more than ever.
This album is legendary and highly suppressed. They’ll play swimming pools or poetic justice on the radio as throwback but you’ll rarely ever hear any material from TPAB. His live performance for this album were startling and rememberable. Impactful. This is my favorite album of all time and I’m happy to have had grown up while it was happening.
It's because a lot of stuff on GKMC is radio-friendly. While still a great album, it does not anywhere match the experimentation of TPAB. TPAB has a lot of very abnormal hip hop structures that would not be suitable for common pop radio stations (Wesley's Theory, Institutionalized, u, How Much a Dollar Cost, Mortal Man, etc.) and the language is a lot more varied, deep, and complex than things that would normally be played on radio stations. It doesn't act as simple radio music to play in the background (neither does GKMC, but I digress), but it acts more as an thinking experience, in my opinion.
Yea but gkmc had no problem going +1 million but this more forth right thinking and conceptual album gets no commercial success. Iguess thats usually how it goes though. At least its getting the widespread acclaim it deserves!
True, it did take GKMC a year to go platinum and Control was the a big reason people who initially disregarded Kendrick went and bought it. So that might have something to do with it. And true, TPAB has received widespread critical acclaim. At least we can buy the albums and tell others to support Kendrick!
Bold Prediction: In 10 years, Kendrick will be the greatest rapper and TPAB will be the greatest album. People will finally understand the meaning behind it.
ThatGuyMohamed Nah... Nas, GFK, Black Thought, Andre 3000 etc will still be the greats. Kendrick is joining them. TPAB isn't the greatest ever. It will go down as one of the greats though.

They’ve been doing it for decades just without cameras, don’t let it surprise you, just make the most of what you can do for that man without resorting to the same violence that was inflicted on him

STILL A MASTERPIECE
Why would it stop being a masterpiece
Best album of all time
Always will be a masterpiece
TPAB is transcendent
goat album

True, it did take GKMC a year to go platinum and Control was the a big reason people who initially disregarded Kendrick went and bought it. So that might have something to do with it.
