    Despite how lousy the concrete company was you and your secretary did an excellent job on your driveway Mike. It's beautiful brother, especially when the motor home and your motorcycle are sitting on it!👍 You and the misses have really worked your butts off on your home since you moved down there and it certainly shows!!! Thanks for sharing, loved the length of this video too. Take Care and God Bless my dear friend! Jay.

    Concrete is cool stuff. And it is very satisfying when you are done. You feel like you've accomplished something worthwhile. I've never done any big pours but a number of small ones. Certainly your experience was key for pulling off a big job like that just by yourself and your conscripted help!

    • @MrKnowItAllGuru
      @MrKnowItAllGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really is Leonard! I stand and look at it often, because it just looks so much better than the hideous mess that it was before :) Thank you for watching and commenting, hope you have a great day my friend. Guru Mike

    Great video, good looking job. Questions-Did you take inventory of what's buried underneath? How long were you in physical therapy for your shoulders afterwards?

    • @MrKnowItAllGuru
      @MrKnowItAllGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LOL, no inventory Billy, and believe it or not, no physical therapy!! I always say, if you're not moving you're dying, so I try to stay in decent physical shape for just such an occasion :) LOL Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it, have a great week my friend. Guru Mike

    My plumber had to cut a 1 ft wide x 10 ft long trench in my driveway to replace a leaking underground water line. He patched the concrete poorly. Now there is an uneven gray stripe, surrounded by the original lighter color concrete. Is there a good way to grind the patch smoother and feather it into the surroundings? Any suggestions for a durable coating over the whole thing to camoflage the repair work? I live in southern California, so freezing/spalling should not be an issue.

    • @MrKnowItAllGuru
      @MrKnowItAllGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off my good friend, I would contact the plumber who "fixed" it, to have him have it repaired to the way it was when he started his project. We've found that most people will work with you, he may even hire someone to repair it properly. Second, if that is not an option, please send a couple of pictures to our main e-mail address at sweetprojectcars@gmail.com and we will get back to you within a couple of days with an added comment to this thread on what you need to do. Thank you for watching and asking, have a fantastic day. Guru Mike

      @@MrKnowItAllGuru Thanks for the response. There were other issues with the job besides the concrete. Hence, I prefer to hire someone else or attempt to fix it myself. Photos will be taken tomorrow and emailed.

    When I first saw the area formed out I thought it was too much, but I've changed my mind. It looks much better! I really like that you went around the palm tree. Any time I've had concrete poured has been a hassle. I've tried small companies and massive international companies and they all suck. I understand punctuality in the concrete business is tough, but it's the lying about it that bugs me. I have no complaints about the laborers and finishers, those guys work their butts off. When I built our house they poured our front sidewalk on an extremely hot day. I made sure they had anything they wanted to drink but they were still sweating their ass off. Did you have any issues getting a permit to pave such a large area?
    Looks great, will improve the property value and is useful to you. Sounds like a win!

      Thank you so much for watching Bruce, and we appreciate your comment. We agree 100% if the concrete companies would just be straight up with you it would sure help. Have a great day my friend. Guru Mike

    So, your secretary thought she was getting a job with just a little light typing and bookkeeping, LOL - not freezing her fanny off outside pouring concrete! And where's Julio when you really need him?

    $130 per yard for 4,000 with fiber? That's $220 a yard or more in Athens, GA.

      Yeah, we set up an account with the concrete company here in Pensacola, so we got a bit of a discount there. But we are still on their mailing list as an account holder and we receive price increase letters all the time, we are so glad we poured when we did because due to the current admin in this country everything is way way higher in cost!! Thanks for watching and sharing, we really appreciate it, hope you have a great day. Guru Mike & team

    It really sucks when people take your money, don't do what they agreed to, and make your life so much harder than it needed to be.
    I'm glad you were able to work around it, and get it to come out nicely. My temper would have gotten the better of me WAY too quickly.

    • @MrKnowItAllGuru
      @MrKnowItAllGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I hear you Alex, but the problem is that if I would have lit into them, we were already committed to their mix of concrete, we didn't want to change companies midstream, so they had us by the tallywacker. Thank you as always for being here with us and for your comment, hope you have a fantastic day my friend. Guru Mike
