Finally built and placed my industrial forge last night ... on uneven ceilings/pillars. This was super helpful, but I really needed this video yesterday man. LOL :-) Happy New Year BTC.

maz showed something one day that was a better way to deal with the pillars, i forgot in which video, but it was something like pillar, ceiling, next ceiling and from there the next pillar attach to the ceiling but sticking both sides the same amount, then a second pillar attach to that one bellow the ceiling, on the second snap point and then remove the first pillar (i wish i remember the video, it's hard to explain with words)

there's actually a less costly way once you have the height you need place a pillar in an open space then connect the roof piece on after that no sticking up at all

While at the time of this video, this was one of the best known methods to get the smooth floor... for newer viewers, use the method by Fresonis here on TH-cam. It saves a LOT of resources, is much quicker, and gives the same smooth floor results.

I was having trouble getting the stone slopes to rotate the right way. I had to use a slanted wall, but it wouldn't snap to the ground, so I had to build a wall, with a ceiling, then place the slanted wall under the ceiling, then snap the slope to the slanted wall. #fixyourgameark

i havent played in a long time but apparently there is a new way of doing this that is faster / cheaper
can I place foundation on pillars

dang I play on pvp and ceiling I feel are too weak
But now my floor is off. Why can't Ark just update this?
Couldn't you just place all your pillars first then add ceilings after? Build from the bottom up, not too down. Like in real life
