What is ARK: Survival Evolved?
Ark: Survival Evolved is a sandbox survival game developed and published by Studio Wildcard. Players are stranded on a lush tropical island inhabited by mammoth dinosaurs. Survive by scavenging resources to craft tools and build a home to withstand the elements. Pick seeds and plant them, collecting dinosaur excrement to fertilize your farm. Or build improvised weapons to hunt prehistoric beasts for their hides and meat. As you play you level up in RPG fashion, earning points to increase your stats and unlocking new craftable items. Go to the flattest spot on top of the cliff at Footpaw pointing out toward the ocean (82, 32). A surprising (and mind-numbing) lack of green. Though a beacon does land there sometimes.
Best spot for flat land on the island is 70.5. 30.5
I got 31×62 foundations. All rocks and trees are removable. No leeches yet either.

This Video is actually a little gold mine of information. Just because an area is heavily forested does not mean it isn't flat, so many people just try open areas. I opened up a single player world, turned resource re-spawn as high as i could, then took a high level Bronto and smashed the trees down. Wish i had this video in my life before i had done all that lol.

The Best way I found to do it was in spectator in a solo game just hit f12 or screenshot and it will TP you to 50-50 and all trees and rocks dissappear for about a minute lol then fly like crazy 😁

Tip: Lower the foundations if there is a dip. Place your foundation, place a pillar inside the foundation, and snap the next foundation to the pillar. Rinse and repeat until needed.

This video was super helpful. While I am going to have more than one based on the island I'm kind of hoping for a spot to build my biggest permanent base. A base with a heavily fortified metal wall with a dinosaur gate (obviously) surrounded by spikes and turrets to fend off most of the major threats well keeping the rest of the buildings and tamed creatures inside the walls. I think of the area near the tundra biome with the big indestructible Rock is a perfect place to make just that
Thanks, #1 was useful cause I didn't know at the time where I could put my gigas and rexes, but that area is big so I put alot of my big dinosaurs, and the deep space in it it where good for my Mosasaur! I put walls underwater so other underwater creatures (especially the annoying Piranhas) from attacking it. The giant space was really helpful thanks!

Helpful. First one is my favorite.
8:30 Built in this spot with my mates on a private server. Good PvE build spot. Put up a wall of behemoth gates and you're fine. Lots of wood and stone. Lots of silica pearls in that ice covered bay which can also be a good water creature storage pen if want to do old school non-cryo storage. If you're not on official the blue obelisk is nearby and a great place to farm metal, obsidian and crystal. I like to fill up a Gasbag with stuff then float down to the base.

the hidden pond to the north with the beavers in it has a wavy spot that as long as you don't mind using pillars it's pretty easy to get a size able base
these spots are perfect for playing with a lot of mods that add crafting stations, or one mod that adds a lot of crafting stations.

40,16 is where my current base is for amy survival run, so far has been good, carnivore spawns on that little tip before the ocean/snow, close to blue obelisk, volcano is close by, only problem is your away from most of the caves but a flyer and direwolf or thyla combo and its fairly easy, (underwater caves are their own trial but thats a different story 😂)

Make good base spots that is easy to build a big water pen inn. Like so you can keep squids and mosas. I would prefer them to be close to metal to. Spots can be PvE spots. So a spot you can build a nice big base and also keep water dinos close by. I need this. I would like to have this on the island and maybe also on ragnarok. Thinking about starting a server with open world PvP and PvE bases so no raiding.

Best spot for flat land throughout all of the island. I got 31 by 62 foundations no problem. It's at the edge of the swamp and I haven't run into a single leech in that location.
You'll run out of available structures in the area before you run out of space once you actually start making buildings.

I just made png images with Gimp (like photo shop but free) of text and stuff then added it as layers in Sony movie studio (it's on steam, usually in a sale) and added the movement/animation there. Very easy to do really.

a bit of your ARK pain in a nutshell
Never truly cared about the PvP element of this game, more into the RP and PvE/Lore story element, honestly if peopple want to play PvP they should go play Rust imo. Also these are interesting basing spots, been taking note when I get my PC built to play this game finally.

Binx turn on clipping in the settings if you are playing single player.
Clipping ON is amazing, tr that
